"During our recent holiday in the Highlands, my partner and I dined at the restaurant located in our hotel. We were pleased with the variety of options available for my pescatarian partner, and ended up indulging in three courses each. I started with a prawn risotto followed by lamb, both of which were delicious. My partner enjoyed a Goat’s Cheese starter and another main course that escapes my memory. We finished our meal with a delightful giant drambuiemisu dessert. The food was all excellent and the service was top-notch, with attentive staff creating a perfect atmosphere for a quiet evening meal. The only minor complaint I had was the limited beer selection, as I prefer cask over the on-tap Belhaven Bitter, but this is just a small detail."

Food was to a high standard. Possibly needed more staff as they seemed a bit stretched at times. we appreciate Covid 19 restrictions may not have helped matters.

Goodness beautiful and delicious, very well presented and of a very high quality. While perhaps a little on more expensive side, i feel that given the location and surroundings that's to be expected. Can't fault the quality and will be back.

We love coming here. The building is full of charm and character. We’ve been twice during covid restrictions and feel safe and comfortable. The staff are all super efficient and friendly. The food is always outstanding and the wine list excellent as is the West beer on draft. A lovely place with amazing views.

Despite COVID restrictions preventing alcohol with meals, this is very good. The menu for dinner, without being over long had too many dishes that looked enticing. I had a potato and quinoa roulade to start with while my partner had ham hock terrine with a crispy egg. Mains were a cannon of lamb and red mullet. All carefully prepared and beautifully presented. I had a soufflé for desert which was clearly made to order. Absolutely excellent. View menu

The waiter and staff at this restaurant were incredibly helpful. When I asked for venison, which was not on the menu, they were able to provide it and it tasted fantastic. They also had a great selection of local whiskies and the waiter shared his extensive knowledge with us. He was very professional, similar to a maitre d' from a top restaurant in London. The dining room had a historical feel, reflecting the manor's past, and our table offered a lovely view of the loch. The food and service were top-notch, earning a 5-star rating.

Located on the shore of the lake, we stumbled upon this fantastic find. The staff, including Chef Huda, were excellent. The food was amazing, especially the soups, risotto, and salmon. The wines were great, especially the Claret. The views were beautiful, the dining room was lovely with wood paneling, and the atmosphere was light and delicate. The furniture was exquisite, and the service was impeccable. It was perfect in every way. Despite being from New Zealand, we will definitely return and stay here. Highly recommended. Thank you sincerely, Tom.

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
