"Food (typical) Sicilian style is awesome. Reasonable prices and big menu. Unsure which fish is fresh and what comes from freezer. English menu lacks style, only text and Google translate recuired to make sense of the ingredients. Understanding of English with older personel great, with younger personell limited and thus one can get a plate in front of him without any explanation. Standard table means inside, maybe call to have a reservation outside. To be left alone for mins after finishing the last dish was unfortunate. No appetite for a desert this way."

Delicious Calamari and Salad, Pasta was pretty decent. This place really recommend, much better than other tourist restaurants in the city

They turned down solo traveler’s request to dine alone. I am immediately refused a table when I told the lady I wanted to have one table for myself without decent reasons. Later on when I passed by the restaurant they offered the table to a couple.

Really first-class cook and staff. If you expect a British Italian meal, forget it, this is excellent Sicilian restaurants and the food served is more than one game for any first-class London restaurant or another British city. The wine was brilliant, the Gelato was better than anyone we ever tasted. This is a place to enjoy.

Excellent Sicilian restaurant focusing on seafood, which is extremely fresh. Great atmosphere and very friendly waiter, host and cook. Path from the tourist crowds decorated on a quiet street and immaculate. Very recommended. You have many choices of best wines in Italy and there is a bar in the restaurant. The place is open from Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays. You can only open for dinner from 20:00 to 12:00 midnight.

I was excited to read such ecstatic reviews and my girlfriend and I chose to visit for our first meal in Ortigia. We were disappointed. Staff were dismissive and often rude. Pasta was well cooked but unexceptional and overpriced. men trying to sell single roses circulated the restaurant with the approval of management. The main room of the restaurant was reserved for Italians whilst we sat in the drafty passage of the front door. It ain’t cheap, friendly, or worth it.

Overall there are some goods things about this restaurant, like decor friendliness of staff, but it stopped there for us. We came on a recommendation by the place we were staying at but unfortunately we weren’t Wowed. We wanted to be, but it just didn’t happen. The service was lacking the night we went, and the food was ok but not memorable for us. The menu is digital, making it hard to read and a real challenge in Italian. it’s so much nicer to be able to read a printed menu. Overall it was a miss for us.
