"Visited La Trompette as part of a no corkage BYO wine deal from my wine merchant. Took the allowed bottle each one champagne and one red Bordeaux and settled in for lunch. We started with a **** Mary and a couple of oysters; Dorset rock oysters with tamarillo hot sauce, celery and lime, which were absolutely delicious. We both opted for the starter of Foie gras and chicken liver parfait, Muscat jelly, toasted pistachios and brioche, which was light and creamy, with a generous slice of brioche. The pistachios added texture and the muscat jelly a decadent sweetness. The champagne was an excellent accompaniment. For mains, my wife had Suffolk pork rib eye with pumpkin puree, fondant potato, trompettes, capers, sage and crackling, and I had the Veal rump and glazed cheek with creamed polenta, roasted tomato and gremolata. Two clean plates were delivered back to the kitchen! A lovely combination of flavours and textures. We then opted to share a cheese plate to accompany the last of the red wine, and the cheese choices were excellent. My dessert was malt custard with toasted almond ice cream and cocoa nib bricelet, and it was sublime a glass of Sauternes was it's natural bedfellow! I greatly enjoyed chatting to Donald, the very engaging and knowledgeable sommelier, and all the waiting staff were efficient, and very pleasant. All in all, a very satisfying and delicious lunch, and a great find. We will certainly return!"

great service, eating and ambiente. always love this restaurant. it is more the place for wind, bang and boom. but come here for uncompromising modern French cuisine. I think it is an excellent value for the quality they receive and probably they would pay much more if further east. also the sommelier is at the top.

We simply cannot fault the whole dining experience. We were here for our anniversary meal and from the moment we walked through the door to when we left the entire experience was perfect. The meal was delicious, the wines lovely and the service impeccable. I love my cheese too and they have a cheese trolley ! So rarely see that anymore... Couldn't recommend enough View menu

well furnished room, excellent service and eating was excellent. only a small detail that should be improved according to my opinion: the sommelier should be more careful with the wee who serves the customer. we reject two bottles that were not under conditions, and after the sommelier's call he agrees that the wee was not a proper condition. at the end we didn't pay for the bottles, but I think that can be avoided. Nevertheless, this restaurant is a great place and I recommend it.

six of us for dinner on a Saturday evening. booking essential, as the place was lined by 8 o'clock. excellent service from all employees who were polite, knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. our table chose a lot of appetizers, with me went for the sweet brote, which were delicious and well presented. our main courses were either absorbing black fabulous or salt march lamb fantastic . great selection of puddings and cheese. the best pudding is the souffle! wow! great selection to wein the california cabernet was excellent, plus aged tawny port and brandies! the bill came to c 850 incl. 12.5 service fee. we thought this was a fairer price for a wonderful and very...read more View menu

Even on a gloomy mid February evening, La Trompette in Chiswick looks cheery and inviting with its bubble shaped box hedge and wide awning. This is one of five Michelin starred London restaurants co owned by clever restaurateur Nigel Platts Martin. Over the last 20 years, this astute money man has teamed up with chefs he admires and, in partnership with them, has brought us exquisite, top of the range, elegant but informal dining experiences, most of which, like La Trompette, are neighbourhood based. The Square in Mayfair and The Ledbury in Notting Hill, he owns with the talented Messrs. Phil Howard and Brett Graham, La Trompette in Chiswick, The Glasshouse in Kew and the fabulous Chez...rea...

It had been a while since we visited a Michelin star restaurant so we were a little cautious on what to expect. From the get go the staff made us feel very welcome. We had a corner table but it was a busy night so...didn't mind that so much. It wasn't cheap (the course menu is each) but it was worth it. We had scallop, and scorched mackerel for starter (the scallops won for me), pork and duck for mains (I thought my pork was sublime until I tried the duck), and mille feuille and banana souffle for desserts I only knew what mille feuille was from GBBO the night before I was a little bemused by all the different staff coming to the table but everyone was super relaxed and made the evening flow...
