"la vina offered a lot of potential, but we were disappointed. first the service was fast and attentive. the orders delivered without delay and drinks and eating. Eating was excellent. then the restaurant began to fill and mysterious staff disappeared. we have finished our eating and waited 35 minutes to order a dessert. the remaining employees, significantly too few to provide a good service level, ran around in chaos. we finally took part in our dessert and had to cancel the rest, as we got the bill and left the restaurant. that is not a critique at the personal. they did their best because they were too few. this is a management problem. so easy to get it right, but so important when wrong."

A special occasion meal for our son's graduation. Nobody was disappointed. We all thoroughly enjoyed our choices. Staff were really sweet and helpful. Highly recommend.

we have eaten some paints here and we always had a good meal. the ambiente is warm and authentic, but it had lost it. the menu seemed to have changed, but not for the good.

this was a nice experience as usual in this traditional manyth restaurant the only thing to mention (despite the menu disclaimer that food is used at room temperature) most of the dinge were on the cool side on Saturday and we would prefer the dishes warmer.

eating was good and service could also happen, except the sweet paprika paprika. we ordered tapas and waited for the head when we were ready, they said that the kitchen was closed to 21. No one warned us and it would have been nice to know. the waiter tried to get on it and it was very appreciated.

Lovely place to eat on a busy Deansgate in Manchester. The menu had a wide range as my partner is celiac and the gluten-free options were many. I would definitely recommend the tapas. We got 7 between us and that was plenty. The garlic prawns were tasty but they came with the shells on ????, which freaked me out a little! ????. 10/10 for the food and will definitely go back.

The staff were very polite and attentive. The menu was good for tapas but slightly expensive, as was the wine menu. The seating was not very comfortable and the decor a bit tired. The real downside was how cold it was in the building. I put my coat back on within a couple of minutes of sitting down, and at least 4 other tables had people eating in their coats. Also none of the staff wore face masks.

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."

"I've been to a couple of different Dishoom branches a few times and have never been disappointed by the breakfast options. The sausage naan roll is excellent. A couple of really tasty vegan sausages with some melted vegan cheese all wrapped up in a lovely soft naan and served with some sort of sweet chilli dipping sauce. My go to now is usually the vegan Bombay. It's a good hearty breakfast plate with... a couple of the same well seasoned vegan sausages. Some vegan tofu akuri a nicely spiced tofu scramble. Some very well cooked mushroom slices (that are maybe a wee bit under seasoned). The baked beans are really nicely spiced, elevating them far beyond the standard sweet sauce fare that's the usual. A few slices of well flavoured black pudding (that could be fried to being a bit crispier). A cooked tomato which is a bit dull, I've never been keen on tomatoes on my breakfast plate and this once has not changed my mind. It could do with some more charring and maybe some spicing. To help you mop everything up, the whole thing is served with a couple of soft bread buns that have been nicely toasted. I usually top the whole thing off with some chocolate chai with oat milk you get free refills for your chai. Unfortunately, it isn't wheelchair accessible. There are stairs up into the restaurant and various small flights of stairs to get to different parts of the restaurant. Updated from previous review on 2024 03 25"
