"I booked a Groupon meal for four people (4* Two Course Meal with Prosecco) at the Woughton Hotel Seasons Restaurant for the 25th Jan. When we arrived the venue looked lovely and as we were early we had a drink in the bar. We made our way to the restaurant where two men were seated but had to wait for about five minutes before a waiter arrived and showed us to our seats. We were seated in the back part of the restaurant which was dimly lit it made us feel like 2nd class citizens! During our meal the two men left and two other people were seated in the more brightly lit, front part of the restaurant as they were eating from the à la carte menu! We selected our starters and mains and eventually the starters were served. Two of us had the soup which was nicely presented in a jug with the bowl on a small rectangular plate. Unfortunately it was not piping hot and when poured into the cold bowl, it chilled off even more. Also the taste was very nondescript it was supposed to be vegetable but it was hard to tell. Annoyingly the waiter lent across us to serve instead of serving us from the left. After some time, the mains arrived but unfortunately the two duck dishes were not as expected. The duck was tough and again nowhere near hot enough. One dish was changed for sea bass after complaining, but this too was not attractive or tasty. Overall the menu was very limited. The restaurant was almost empty and so there was no excuse to serve luke warm food all in all the food was mediocre and the service sub standard and very slow. We were bitterly disappointed and left before the table had been cleared. My father phoned and complained to the manager (Gareth) who said he would talk to the head chef and get back to him. We are still waiting for a response.... very unimpressed with the whole experience. Would not recommend eating at this hotel."

This was our annual Christmas lunch for a group of visually impaired people (Torch Trust for the Blind). We did not stay overnight.

Ate in this hotel restaurant which aspires to, and delivers on, fine dining at a reasonable price. Staff made an effort to make you feel welcome. Fillet beef main was very good, as was the pork belly starter. Lovely place to eat.

Very disappointing! We went there on our anniversary. My wife's food wasn't as described on the menu. They have admitted the chef made a mistake. But all they have offered was: we are sorry! They have not offered a discount or exchange!

We enjoyed a special dinner here last night cannot fault the service or food. We found this place through Groupon which was an incredibly good deal we would definitely come back for a special meal again. The restaurant was quiet with a nice modern feel.

Stayed 2 nights and ate in the restaurant both nights. Dinner very good, no complaints food and service perfect. Breakfast was a different kettle of fish, ok if you order from the restaurant but the hot buffet was not up to scratch. On the second morning the staff were more interested in standing around chatting instead of paying attention to the customers. Quite embarrassing really

We went here for an early evening meal today. Following recent refurbishment the reception rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished, as is the restaurant itself. The food and service was excellent and we enjoyed an unhurried, relaxing meal. Haven't had the opportunity to see the rest of the hotel but, based on what we did see and experience, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Woughton House and look forward to visiting again soon.

We went here after being gifted a Groupon voucher. Pitched as a fine-dining restaurant the decor was ok but it's striving for something it will not achieve. It would be better off having something that is modern, airy and smart casual. The dining room was pretty quiet for a Saturday night and lacked atmosphere because of this. I would estimate 35%full. The service was friendly and efficient, no complaints there. We had a good table with space which was nice.

We came here on 25 Jan for my partners birthday. The restaurant was nearly empty. We expected that as the restaurant is advertised as ‘fine dining’ that we would get a really special experience. However the food was mediocre and the service sub-standard. It is a shame as we have stayed here before and enjoyed it. However the restaurant is very expensive for the quality of food and level of service you get and it certainly was not what we were expecting. Will not be coming here for dinner again and will not be recommending it. After the meal we both feel quite unwell which is not acceptable at all.

"Heading to the near Craufurd Arms for a gig and looking for something to eat beforehand we happened across Zouk Lounge quite by accident and as we all enjoy Lebanese food decided to give it a try after first checking that there was plenty of veggie options (which there was) as 2 of our 3 strong party are vegetarian. Gabriella (from Romania) was our charming waitress who seated us and was very informative when it came to enquiring about the various veggie options on offer. She recommended the ‘Lobia’ dish to me (Lebanese spiced whole green beans cooked with fresh tomato sauce) which I then ordered whilst my brother and our friend also choose veggie options and we then decided to share these amongst us all and also decided to add a couple of side dishes. Very impressed with all the food served to us; all freshly cooked, nicely presented, tasted delicious and served to us in a timely fashion. No complaints. After dinner Gabriella enquired if we’d like to relax in their Shisha lounge located at the rear of the restaurant whilst she prepared a shisha pipe and some aperitifs for us. We accepted her offer and retired to the shisha lounge. Once Gabriella had served our aperitifs she enquired as to whether I would like to take control of the music in the lounge over their Bluetooth connection which I gladly excepted and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to stay a little longer for another round of cognac and G T’s before we headed off to the nearby gig; only just arriving before the show started in the end as we’d spent nearly a full 2 hours in Zouk Lounge. All in all, a really enjoyable dinner; fantastic food, a charming and friendly waitress (Gabriella) and a real surprise and extra treat to learn of the shisha bar at the rear of the restaurant after our meal. We will definitely be back for a return visit the next time we are in the area."
