"Small, simple but absolutely superb menu. Very friendly staff. Great surroundings, with lots of different seating areas, mixture of sunny and shady spots. Great views, very picturesque. I was travelling on my own and the owner very kindly invited me to join her and her family at a table on the upper, covered terrace (as rainy was threatening). They were so welcoming and friendly. Her husband even fixed my bicycle for me! I went back several times with some new friends that I made in the village camping car park. Each time the food and service and atmosphere was faultless. This place is truly superb value for money and one of the most hospitable snacks restaurants I have ever visited. GO THERE!, you wont be disappointed."

"The setting of this traditional restaurant in lovely Cucugnan is a marvel, and the food no less. The £39 menu had fhe most wonderful range of both meat and fish dishes, all cooked to perfection from excellent raw materials....the fillet steak melted on the tongue, the monk fish with pea puree and black ink sauce great! There was even an amuse bouche to start; but unfortunately we were not able to procure one for the member of our party who had opted for the cheaper menu..despite offering to pay extra."

"Nous avions réservé une chambre sur booking ,après un periple de 800km ,nous arrivâmes enfin à Cucugnan!!pittoresque village dans le massif des Corbières.et la le début du drame commença!! L auberge était fermée , personne pour nous accueillir, personne au téléphone ! Finalement une employée apparaît mais elle nous annonce que l'auberge est complète ! Après moults explications, une chambre surgit comme par miracle : une chambre qu'elle a honte de louer selon ses dires. Un lit, une salle de bain rien de honteux hormis la clim hors service (alors qu'il fait 36°)et idem pour la TV...ah et j'oublie on ne peut ni dîner ni petit déjeuner car la serveuse a le covid. Cet établissement est une honte pour la profession."

"Not having time to stop for a fulllunch we dived into this place offering a range of snacks and salads. It was nice to see them serving local beers and the service was prompt and friendly. However the salads were a huge disappointment. Costing around 8.50 euros the salade Catalane sounded good but was nothing more than lettuce, hard boiled egg, couple of olives and a bit of tinned tuna with some very strange tasting tomato sauce. Others in our party had hamburgers which were ok but nothing special. I suppose with all the tourist trade in this village they don't need to try too hard."
