"We ate at Le Gole di Amatrice on the recommendation of our hotel. To start with it was open Sunday evening which is not common in the neighbourhood. The restaurant, the menu and the staff are in the older style. We were a little undecided about the menu and the waiter (owner? suggested that we try an assortment of local delicacies. A great suggestion which included mozarella with ham, grilled aubergine, mixed peppers, kidneys with other meats, For mains we had linguine with seafood and a mixed grilled meat plate. The linguine was delicious served with fresh seafood and cooked all together so the flavours permeated the whole dish. The mixed grill included sausage, steak, lamb and pork all of which had been marinated The only disappointment was the pork which I found a little dry. Desserts were great creme brulee and a chocolate puddings. Accompanied with a litre of house red, 75 Euros for 2 was great value for the quantity and quality of food we received."

Ambiente molto curato e accogliente.

View menu

Servizio cortese. Giudizio positivo.

This little restaurant may be better than a three but for us it was not. We had two mains roasted lamb and seafood linguine. Also pasta with cheese and pepper. All tasted OK but not outstanding. The lamb was pretty hard to deal with unless you are very skilled with a knife and fork. Several beers listed but only on available. Several desserts but only one available. We were the only ones there along with a trio of other up to 9:30. The waiter/owner/manager was very attentive and service was excellent. It is very close to a main street and not quiet.
