"Right opposite the Rome Metro stairs is Le Paris Rome, a typical corner bar/restaurant that is popular with locals who live in the area. The 17th district at this point borders on the upmarket 8th, so you will see mainly suits here after work so it has a nice feel away from the very touristy Pigale district just 1km further up the road.At first the staff seem a little cold, but as soon as you break the ice they warm to you, a very typical situation in Paris, and on our second and subsequent visits they knew our orders and started joking with us which made us feel very welcome. We were staying just around the corner for 3 nights so Le Paris Rome became our regular for drinks and tapas after exploring Paris each day. It was wonderful to be part of the typical Parisienne lifestyle of coming off the metro with the office workers, dropping in for a drink or two and perhaps a tapas, before heading home.We always like to sit up at the bar in these establishments to rub shoulders with the locals, but we noticed many people were taking seats at the tables to take more substantial meals, or in many cases have drinks with a group of colleagues. The kitchen has a very busy chef but not as busy as the bar staff who are constantly on the move looking after the waves of people pouring out of the metro.A lot of fun in a lively bar."

Nice place, very nice waiters, great burgers! Came in for a quick bite, ended ordering a French onion soup and a medium-well cheeseburger which was amazing! Highly recommended!

The restaurant is owned by kind and talkative French people. The food was fresh and well prepared. Price honest. I had dinner three times there during a 4-day trip to Paris, and I always went out happy.

Such a lovely little restaurant on a street near the notre dame area of Paris. Went a few times during my stay in Paris over a week and it was well priced for beautiful steak chips and of course their drinks ! My favourite was the cocktail Paris Rome . View menu

Stopped for a quick dinner here with my son. The set menu was very cheap - €14 for two courses. The pate and steak frites were fairly average however.Service wasn't the warmest, but it was a lot cheaper than most of the other places nearby, so maybe to be expected.

This place was round the corner from our hotel and the first place we visited before checking in as we were early! Sitting at the bar you can watch the bustle of the street and people coming and going from Rome metro. It is right outside the metro station and was very convenient for a quiet drink after long days out sightseeing.

We were there late after a concert (almost 23h). Although we were stil served, it took a very long time. The waitress was almost exclusively talking (and laughing with ) the clients inside and despite the excellent location and the quality of the cold cuts and cheeses and excellent organic red wine, we were not as happy as we expected. I understand it was late but the bar inside was very dirty and outside not very clean either. View menu

This place was just around the corner from my hotel and has the honour of being the first place I visited to grab a drink this time I was in Paris (I've been here before, so it isn't the first, just the first this time). Anyway, as it turns out, Paris isn't cheap, considering that I paid something like 10 Euros for a large glass of Leffe. However, the waitress was really friendly, and it was a reasonable, even though it isn't in one of the really glamourous parts of the city (it happens to be next to the railway that heads out from Gare St Lazare). Like a lot of these places, it is open from early to late, and is a nice place to grab a drink, or a bite to eat, but as I have mentioned it is a...

In a real world, a place this would get three stars, not four - but then this is not Michelin and this is one of the better examples of the cafes that dot Paris. The bread is good, to be expected in Paris. In a lite late lunch I had a country style terrine that had that rough surface one expects. Made in House? I don't know or frankly care in this instance. The quality was right where it should be. Large salad with it, freshly made. I also had eggs Mayonaise in the classic style. Boiled yolk. Personally I prefer the yolk in the mayonaise. No demerits there. My wife had an onion soup, the classic. Well made like everything. We drank a large 50 cl carafe of Cote du Rhone, pleasant. Bottles - a...
