"Wonderful, home-cooked cuisine, we have enjoyed the price it is really rare. Very clean! Only flat is the welcome, really not pleasant, very cold but seen the other opinions perhaps the lady was not in shape! I really recommend this restaurant."

A restaurant to discover or rediscover without hesitation. We loved the finesse of the kitchen, the kindness of the waitress and its advice for the wines.

"Best dining experience of our recent trip (and there were some good contenders)! My husband is a professional chef- so we are picky and we were not disappointed at all. To complicate matters, I can't eat dairy due to a severe intolerance - they went out of their way to accommodate and still ensure that my experience was just as special as my husband's -he could eat everything they served with no problems! We found the service to be attentive but not overbearing, and the pace relaxed but also not overly slow- it was really just right. Looking at the pictures from other reviews, I was a little worried that my husband would still be hungry at the end of the meal (he has a very hearty appetite)- but that was not the case at all. Between all the courses including the amuse bouche- we both felt very satisfied at the end of the meal without feeling so stuffed that you want to roll home (so instead we had a nice stroll back to our car for the drive to our B&B). Another note of appreciation- the staff went out of their way to explain the menu in English- something we never expect but it was much appreciated (I actually speak some French and can translate for my husband, but to be honest I was quite jet lagged as we had arrived that day after a 10 hour flight. It was nice for me that I didn't have to translate every bit, but could jump in to help with words, and my husband just loved the interaction since restaurants and cooking is his world back home- it was a very engaging, welcoming and thoughtful experience).Though the cost is a bit on the higher end- if you are looking for a special night out- the value of the money spent was absolutely worth it in our opinion. Our experience is that restaurants this nice are usually a little snooty, but not here- they were very welcoming and considering it was the first dinner of our trip, it just made for the perfect start for our vacation. We would not hesitate to recommend Le Petit Bateau and hope to return the next time we visit the area."
