"Le Senat is at the top of rue Emile-Yung a short narrow street leads downhill almost to the main Geneva hospital. On the right side all the houses seem to be the offices of various medicos, the left starts with Le Senat which literally means The Senate. The rest seem to be composed of normal houses. From the street the restaurant does not seem attractive but once inside...... there is an attractive bar and a very bright and quirky room leading to the back. The tables are beautifully laid. We were met by a knowledgeable server who led us to a table at the rear, the area soon filled up. The menu was interesting with a good mixture of dishes and some attractive wines. There was also a list of wines which were reasonably priced to be served by the glass. My wife and I shared a dish of No3 oysters which were very good. She then elected for the dish of the day - a steak and I took steak tartare. It was beautifully presented with a tasty salad and chips. I felt the chips were a little 2nd hand but I enjoyed everything else. The two servers were very professional and smooth."
