"This is everything a great cafe in a very small provincial town should be popular with the locals and cyclists but special enough to make it a go to destination for folk who live a little further away. This weekend we had the smoked...haddock chowder and the mushrooms with spinach and a (stunning) poached egg on sourdough with truffle oil. The food is home made on the premises, tastes fresh and uses local produce where possible, and it's food that just makes you want to lick the plate (even f someone is watching because you know they would understand The cakes are delicious and the menu is restricted to a few (mostly light) dishes but you leave satisfied and with a smile on your face. As it should be. Prices are very fair and there is some limited table seating on the pavement as well as inside. What a joy to have this near where we live."

Great spot for lunch especially as it was sunny and we could sit outside. Excellent quality food and friendly service. The lobster brioche was amazing. Would recommend.

I haven’t been to L and C since before the lockdown. I have just had lunch there with my family and I’m delighted to say that the food, the service and the ambience is still excellent! Thank you, L and C x

This is a wonderful cafe with nice coffee and homemade food including lovely scones and pastries. The pistachio bun was great! Nice to sit outside on a sunny August day. Ask nice food products on sale to take home. View menu

Enjoyed lunch including cakes sitting in the late autumn sunshine. Soup superb, sweet potato. Then the cakes. Oh my! Glorious to look at, and wholesome to eat. Not at all stodgy or ‘plastic.’ Staff so helpful and passionate. What a great find.

The cafe owners were extremely accommodating and willing to make many menu items vegan upon request. They frequently offer a vegan cake as well. I tried the soup of the day, broccoli, which was delicious and came with bread and vegan butter. They also had oat milk available as a non-dairy option.

Stopped here with a friend when cycling over the lammermuirs (much quieter than the place opposite). Coffee was nice and strong and the homemade sausage rolls straight out of the oven were delicious. Finished it off with generous slab of salted caramel chocolate brownie. All...at a reasonable price and friendly service will be stopping here again. View menu

Amazing bespoke Birthday Victoria Sandwich! Thanks Ronnie for your awesome triple layered Victoria Sandwich with strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. The sponge is light and the combination of the lashings of fresh cream and my wife’s favourite berry combo is luxuriously indulgent and exceptionally tasty. Highly...recommended and would definitely order a cake from here again. First class quality, service and value. Many thanks Kevin
