"The New City Edinburgh is a popular cafe that lives up to its hype. I tried a special coffee recommended by a waitress, made with Kenyan bonian beans that had an intense flavor with a slightly acidic note and a wonderful aroma. The food we ordered was excellent as well, including a fragrant and creamy soup, expertly made toast with fresh ingredients, and deliciously soft sourdough. Don't miss out on the chocolate cake—it's definitely worth trying."

Lovely experience at lowdown coffee on our short trip to Edinburgh! My latte and cinnamon bun were beautiful and my partner enjoyed his espresso! A nice range of coffee and food to eat!

I had a fantastic lunch at this small and cozy café. We ordered avocado toast, soup of the day, and a long black coffee, which was the best coffee I've had in a while. The food was delicious and healthy. If you enjoy good coffee and a satisfying lunch, this is the place to go.

I recently had the best coffee and avocado toast I've had in a long time. The coffee was smooth and was the perfect way to start my Saturday. The avocado toast was out of this world, with the hummus, pomegranate, and harissa adding so much flavor. I definitely recommend starting your day here!

Delicious coffee and good looking snacks. Friendly waitstaff and reasonable prices. It is however a small place in terms of seating, and not sure of facilities. Minimal tables inside, and a few more outside in the streetside courtyard. Potentially better to grab takeaway, but i'll definitely be back here.

10/10! Coffee is good. Eating is heavenly. the avocado on toast was soou tasty and surprisingly fill. I also ordered the cocosnus bread with Greek yoghurt and Cacao-Nibbles (Minus-Banane) which was also really good! very interesting and tasteful combinations! would definitely recommend. unfortunately they do not offer soy milk (only heel), which is only a very small thing.

one of the best caffes in edinburgh. they have amazing coffee and great food. try their beans of coffee-spirits from all over the world, which means they have a crazy selection of delicious coffee. I drank a geisha that was complex and absolutely delicious. additionally, eating is amazing. I had a wonderful avocado toast and a delicious zimtbunk. recommend to anyone who wants to eat something good and amazing coffee.

Stopped here for lunch, they make a concerted effort to get purple to fill the tables inside in fairness to them! Big windows allow a lot of light in so it is very nice and bright in the compact cafe! We both got the soup and sandwich deals with the chicken sandwich and different soups. Both were delicious soups, the coffee was great, teas were lovely and service was without fault! Would definitely recommend and will come back again!

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
