"we arrived shortly after 3 o'clock in lympstone manor and spent the afternoon on the 18 hectar large ground. the reasons that run all the way from the manor house to the Exe-Eistuary are well tended and managed. when we went, we profited from the different ways that the land was used and even used some of the seats. First we went through the weinberg and met andrew hunt, the weinberg manager, who strip the gras at the bottom of the rebs, so that the cool air through the rebs of the opening ran in the position to benefit their growth. we have left the weinberg, which we came to the coast and the shepherds hats, which are an alternative type of stay in lympstone for those who want to be close to nature. the huts are around a small lake and are named after the home of animal shelters: otter holt, Hare’s rest, hedgehog row, bee hive and fox den. these accommodations share a common grill zone and a series of them had whirlpools and while I am not one to to torment it, I suspect that it would be nothing bad to stay in one of these! the next part of the hike led us to a series of gentlely flowing lakes. I remember going past that the details of such natural drainage systems were outlined in the archers about eight years ago when they were implemented in bridge farm. next to the lakes leads the ladies walk, who was a Georgian invention for the ladies to wander while the men had their brandy and cigars after dinner. the walk runs around the edge of the estate and the pond leads it to the pool, tennis courts and back to the main house and back to more of the amazing sculptures that are around the house and property. the ladies walk also includes a scenic 'marry me' vibration accompanied by a quote from the days when young lovers had tried in the forest or perhaps still do! while we did not rush on the walk, we took two hours just meandering and enjoy the warm summer air with gentle meeresbrises and beautiful view over the mouth, to exmouth and the sea beyond. then after a wonderful afternoon we had time to shower and go to the appetizer. three light canapes were served with the drinks and were a real promise what was to come delicious. we have checked the menu and decided for the signature tasting menu that has a good mix of seafood, fishing, vegetables and meat. there is not enough space in a google review to do a hit through the bill of the meal, but just to say that there is a nice meal with all the delicate and balance of taste that we had expected when michael caines ' eating on television. the service was impeccable, with each employee showing a real interest in our desires and needs and offers all our needs. After we started with kanaps at 18.30 a.m., it was about 10.30 a.m. when we were finished and came back to the room, we were very, very satisfied."

I purchased a stunning tee for my partner as a 60th birthday gift. This place is fantastic, with excellent views of the River Exe. The service was outstanding; we felt truly pampered from start to finish.

What a fabulous choice for a relaxing and fun weekend. More of a home than a hotel, and all the staff were friendly and attentive. We stayed in one of the Shepherd's Huts and loved walking through the vineyard to and from the hotel.

Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I’m unsure if this was simply an off day or if the place has lost its touch. The cooking course was not very engaging, and it felt like the standards weren't up to par. I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5 stars at best, and I’m curious how it maintains its reputation.

We had an outstanding lunch in a breathtaking setting. Drinks on the lawn overlooking the estuary were followed by the set menu with each exquisitely presented course containing a variety of imaginative flavours. The staff were professional and welcoming and we were made to feel special. They are a real asset. The hotel exudes quality and is exceptional in every way. If you want to spoil yourself, it's difficult to beat this experience.

After experiencing Michael Caine's outstanding two Michelin star cuisine at Gidleigh Park, we then tried Lympstone Manor. Every dish we had there was exquisite, featuring a selection of tasting menus, including the signature estuary menu. It’s arguably the best food we’ve ever tasted. To make the experience even better, Michael has planted his own vines, and we’re now enjoying the fruits of his labor with a delightful Champagne and an exceptional red wine. Additionally, we shouldn’t overlook the high-quality food served at the pool house each month, which is still among the finest dining options in Exeter.

"We were having a short break in Exmouth and were so impressed with the food on the first night that we booked for the next night as well. The restaurant from the outside looks small and cosy, but don’t be put off if the tables...look full as there as other room, equally as cosy, deeper in the premises The menu is interesting with a good selection of dishes and I found it difficult to choose a dish, simply because there were several that took my fancy. My wife had Chicken Souvlaki which, unlike a lot of chicken dishes was not dry and very tasty. My Lamb Kleftico was well cooked so that it fell off of the bone and was delicately spiced with a rich sauce. It was juicy and tender melted in the mouth. The second night my partner had carrot and cheese souflee served with a rich tomato sauce, Mediterranean vegetables boulangere potatoes. This I am told was lovely with a great flavour. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, so often these are overdone but these had just the right amount of crunch left in them. Myself I had Moroccan Lamb Tagine. Having eaten this in Marrakesh I was a little dubious but I need not have worried. It was not as rustic as that served in Morocco, much more refined, but just as tasty and cooked to perfection. For dessert we shared a Summer Berry Bread Butter Pudding with mixed berries. It had a good contrast on sweet and slightly sharp berries that complimented each other. The service was good, efficient, and friendly. Where there was a question , the owner was always happy to answer and obviously took a great pride, and rightly so of her restaurant. If you get a chance this is a must try restaurant and I have no trouble recommending it."
