"Visited for a friends birthday lunch and 3 of us ordered food and drinks separately but together at the bar. Two of the meals were delivered together but after waiting 5 minutes I went to check on the other. Appears there was some confusion as two of had the same food and drink order, the bar/waiting staff left me hanging around with no explanation, as I'd overheard the discuss with the chef I sat down. When the food was eventually brought out the member of staff whispered some poor apology and ran! I had no issue waiting as we were in no rush but the handling of it was poor. The bar staff weren't with it at all, customers were ignored at the bar when they were just standing around, it's a good job the place wasn't busy!"

Some may say one is harsh but it really isn’t. The product the Magpie delivers falls well below what I expect for the prices paid. This is not made any better by below average staff.

Fantastic venue for our work event. The team were hugely helpful in the lead up and ensured everything ran smoothly on the night. Would definitely recommend and will be using again for similar events.

We called into the Magpie and Stump pub for a midweek lunch for a quick bite to eat. We had the pie of the day, steak and ale and fish cakes, both served hot with quick service ! Great location if at the old Bailey.

The pub was cold, so I had to keep my coat on the entire time. It was not very clean or welcoming. The beer selection was decent, but the food was subpar. The restroom was lacking soap and the hand dryer was not functioning. Overall, it was a pretty disappointing experience. View menu

This pub is local to my office. Went in earlier today to find two bar staff behind the bar and a huge queue of people waiting to be served. Batman was clueless and after 10-15 mins of waiting to even get served I gave up. Such a shame as it’s a nice venue but they need to speed their staff up at busy times like lunchtime!!!

The wraps at this restaurant are delicious and the service is fantastic, efficient, and friendly. The server, who may have been Italian, recommended the lamb wrap and it was amazing! Even though the pub was not very busy at lunchtime, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that all customers had a great and memorable experience. I can't wait to recommend this place to others and come back again myself.

Ordered a chicken burger. It took half an hour to arrive and when it did it was stone cold. There were around 10 chips with it also cold and the burger was obviously constructed by someone who shouldn't be anywhere near food. Absolutely no love shown, wilted piece of lettuce, soggy tomato and pallid piece of chicken. No cutlery, no sauces. I got my £12 refunded and am never going back there again. I was with 6 people and all of our food was cold but they ate it anyway and regretted it. Truly awful. View menu

A few years ago, I used Magpie and Stump for a private hire for engagement drinks and had an amazing experience. I recently decided to use them again for my birthday drinks and was not disappointed. We rented the middle floor cocktail bar, and it was fantastic! Sarah and the rest of the team were very accommodating and went out of their way to ensure everyone was happy. The bar was perfect and a great size for around 60 people. Another great feature is that you can play your own music, which is a huge bonus. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a private bar.

We hired out the main bar at the Magpie Stump for my 40th birthday party last weekend. The pub is closed over the weekend so it was a good opportunity to hire a private venue with our own bar. Sarah was excellent to deal with and ensured that the music played through the speaker system (not really loud enough if you want to dance though) and allowed us to bring our own snacks and some decorations. The bar staff on the night were friendly and actually seemed happy to be there! Everyone commented on the atmosphere of the place! All in all a great success of a party in cool, laid back venue

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
