"As an English national living in Germany, who has also been to India countless times and lived in Singapore I feel qualified to at least comment on Indian food. I have also tried many Indian restaurants in and south of Munich. In my view this restaurant simply has the best Indian cuisine I have tasted in Germany and is comparable with the very best I have tasted in India, Singapore and the UK. I have now sampled this restaurant around 9 times. Many as take away. The chefs specialities are rich and deep in flavour, with individual sauces (not all made from the same base sauce as in some neighbouring Indian restaurants). The food is incredibly tasty - my favourites include (but are not limited to) Kashmiri Gosht; Chilli Chicken and Palak Chana. The service and hosptality I have experienced is warm, generous and sincere. For any Brits (or locals) looking for excellent Indian food I can thoroughly recommend this restaurant. My mouth is watering just thinking about it."

The food and I were absolutely excellent, and the owner was extremely kind and fed us 15 minutes after close.

I just went into the restaurant to have a look and decided to order some take away. The service was good and friendly and the wait there was fine. Free WiFi!We enjoyed the food and we'll certainly do it again. I would have like to have had a glass of water offered though, whilst waiting

Maharani is an excellent restaurant. It probably is the best indian restaurant in Bavaria. It's food makes it comparable to the best restaurant and its service makes it a notch above the rest. The quality of food is great and all the gentlemen working at the restaurant are extremely helpful and attentive. Mango Lassi and Bhindi Chana of this restaurant are extremely recommendable. The only negative is that this restaurant doesn't have a proper place for nappy changing. Which makes it difficult to visit it with small babies.

Family of four + guest. The quality of Indian restaurants varies a lot, so we the adults, were guarded at first. Added to that Gruenwald has a pricey reputation, so we sheepishly looked at the menu. A nice welcome, a casual but very clean restaurant setting and a quick glance at the prices set us quickly at ease. We ordered a mixed starter and a mix of dishes, mostly lamb and chicken. We were very happy with the quality of the food. The meat was extremely tender and the flavours exploded in your mouth. Our two usually fussy kids were fighting over the Chicken Tikka!! I have no problem recommending this restaurant and we will certainly return... They also do take away.

"The ambience is very nice, the service is very good and friendly, which must also be somehow at prices. One is brought to his table and all wear uniform clothes (where I wonder if one could not sort knee stockings with holes in the belly... The map is very extensive and everything is really expensive. Sushi card is available on request. You will be asked if you want a bottle of water (which you get, costs 7.90€ so possibly denied and order the other water on the map We had the bread basket with Dips as "Avocado and a red spicy DIp, both was good, but the croupuk was not fresh the bread hard and there was exactly one piece of Pappadam, which I also did not find justified for 5€ and the reputation of the mangostin. In addition, we had a duck salad with mango, for almost 18€ as an appetizer, which really was very tasty!!! and a spirited coconut soup, for almost 10€, which was interesting in a bowl with ice cream, but tasted after cold-foamed coconut milk, so I was no longer good after that. When the main dish I had Teryaki duck, the duck was unfortunately not crispy at all and lay on mushrooms and spring onion (6 slices duck! for 25 € My husband had beef from wok at the same price, that was probably quite good. There was also rice on request. My conclusion, for good Asian food, you don't have to go to the mangostin. The evening cost over 100€ and we waited 30 minutes for the SChluss until our service came back so we could ask for the bill. It tastes better in normal Asian restaurants! Too bad"
