"Horrendous experience at The Manor Kilrea Myself and my 4 friends decided that we would take the 55 minute trip to The Manor for a feed and a catch-up. We decided on this sunny day it would be an enjoyable experience. Little did we know it would be the opposite. When we entered the manor we were told we could sit wherever we wanted. We choose the terrace. When we got to to our table the restaurant was not busy which should should have reflected a positive experience with good efficient customer service which was not provided in the slightest . We sat down at the table and it took around 10 minutes for us to be served for a drink. They then took our food order a while after that. We ordered food which when arrived did not correspond with what we had ordered. The food took at least 40+ minutes to come. The server proceeded to take each of the dishes out slowly one by one. To which this resulted in our food being cold. To get our food to our table in full took at least 35 minutes from the first chicken curry was sat down. When they served the main dishes the sides were incorrect. We had to correct the server 3 times about the mistakes made regarding the sides. The experience was awful. Not to mention the rude, unhelpful and ignorant attitude towards the mistakes the staff at the Manor continuously made. When eventually the sides requested for the chickens curry’s arrived all members at the table had finished their meals. This was absolutely ridiculous and we felt that the prices at the manor were to expensive to reflect the poor food, poor service and unwelcoming staff. This is not even to mention the standard of the food was disgusting. It is safe to say we will never return to The Manor Kilrea. We spent £82.15 on this horrific experience that had ruined our friendly catch-up. We were never asked once if our meal was ok, if we needed anything extra. NOTHING."

We went for Sunday lunch the food was excellent the staff were great. It's good to see there are still places that serve a great Sunday lunch that is served to you at the table.

The food was excellent and the staff were friendly, but when we asked for cocktails, the staff seemed clueless. The Bramble cocktail tasted only of gin and the other one had no taste at all. It is clear that the staff need more training. View menu

I'm not sure which Manor Hotel the previous reviewer is referring to, but it definitely wasn't the one in Kilrea! We recently dined there and had an amazing meal. The food was delicious, the portions were large, and the staff was excellent. Perhaps it says something that the previous reviewer chose to remain anonymous.

Visited two weeks ago with few friends. We had a lovely meal, atmosfere in the place is very welcoming, staff helpful and accommodating. As the weather was beautiful we planned to have few drinks at the balcony after the meal, and ended up making the night of it!! Had a great time, highly recomend. We will be back very soon.

Five of us visited mid afternoon and had a late lunch. The appearance of the building was very grand and stately. The staff member who attended us throughout our visit was very friendly and helpful she discussed the menu with us and offered us her recommendations to help us make our choices. The food was of good quality and nicely presented, portion size was generous. I had the buttermilk chicken burger which was delicious, followed by death by chocolate cake .... well I was on my holidays... Price wise we were able to advantage of one of their meal deals 2 courses for a set price. All in all the price charged for the meals for the five of us was very reasonable and compares favourably with...

On a Tuesday afternoon a few weeks ago, we decided to stop for lunch at this restaurant based on a recommendation. Unfortunately, our food was not great as it seemed to have been cooked in old oil and the side salad was quite odd. We had intended to bring our dissatisfaction to the staff's attention, but we witnessed a shocking display of aggression, foul language, and threatening behavior by the Manager/Owner towards three ladies who had dined there. The way he spoke to them was completely unacceptable, shouting, swearing, and telling them to leave with no regard for their feelings. I had two teenage girls with me who were terrified by his behavior. The ladies handled themselves admirably d...

"Visited lost Found in Portstewart last Friday afternoon for some lunch. Checked the outdoor menu which stated food served until 3.30pm. Went ahead on inside. Started to briefly read the menu at the till as aware from previous visits that you order on arrival yourself at the counter. Was told by the female counter staff that we had 8 minutes to place our order and to take the menus to the table. We did this. Then when we said excuse me to the same member of staff, from our table, that we’d like to order, we were told we had to come back to the till. This made no sense whatsoever. From the moment we stepped in and were told that we had 8 minutes to order should have been the red flag I guess. Friday afternoon, not long till closing, they just didn’t want to be bothered prepping two rounds of food, The two members of staff in the premises had the worst attitude and no ounce of personality to be in the role that they are in. Every thing seemed to be a complete bother. May I also add, the food was very skimp, re portion sizes plus they seem to care more about the presentation than the food itself re the logo branded paper underneath the food. Try attempting to cut sourdough bread on this, not easy unless you want a mouthful of paper. Then when it comes to hot drinks, no sugar or milk provided. Yet again had to approach the till and ask for these to be provided with milk in a paper cup yet another couple had a glass jug of milk on their table (less dishes to wash I guess) and no white sugar at all, had to make do with brown sugar for tea. When asked for refills of hot water we were given a half full glass of this and then when asked for it to be filled up, yet again a whole botheration. Oh and don’t even get me started on the toilet facilities. Dingy to say the least. The premises in portstewart should never have reopened when it did as Lost and Found, previous owner/cafe was far more superior in all ways. Will not be back"
