"Popped in here for a mid week lunch. Firstly there is plenty of room in the on site car park at the rear of the building, there's a back entrance straight into the restaurant. Staff and friendly and attentive. We placed our drinks order first then we went to the counter to choose our food. We started with a prawn avocado dish which was nice but the prawns were small. We then both had the tuna steak which was cooked medium as requested, served with chips (there was a choice between chips, new or jacket potato). We also ordered a salad bowl to accompany the dish. The main course was lovely, it's good to have restaurants serving fresh tuna which you can't often find. The home made chips were also good fluffy on the inside crisp outside. There is no service charge added to the bill which is a pleasant change so be sure to make sure you take cash as the staff definitely deserve a tip ! Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch we will return."

Although the quality of the food was good but a little pricey for a roast dinner, the service was very poor, it’s the first time ever that I haven’t left a tip.

The restaurant has a beautiful setting, but the service was lacking as I am still waiting for my pint of Guinness. The chateaubriand was tasty, but the side dishes were messy and served on a cheap silver plate.

So pleased to have found this gem, wow! Fabulous food (seafood salad starter), beef cutlets with a rich sauce and veg main and raspberry cheesecake), the flavours of each course were divine, all perfectly presented and cooked and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely can’t wait to visit again.

The food for a group of 18 people was excellent. All served by an efficient welcoming and friendly staff. The party was catered for impeccably and the environment in the function room was extremely comfortable with personal attention at all times. We all really enjoyed the evening Thank you

We celebrated an 80th birthday for eight family members at The Miskin Arms. The food was delicious as usual, the service was outstanding, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was perfect. The 'no-menu' system with the food displayed on a refrigerated unit was ideal because you could see the options before choosing. This made decision-making easier for us.

The Miskin Arms is a delightful restaurant just north of Cardiff and is definitely worth short the drive. The staff are the friendliest and most helpful you could meet. The menu is mouth watering comprehensive and whatever you choose it will certainly be delicious. If you are lucky enough not to be driving there is an extensive range of wines I recommend the superb New Zealand Terra Nova Sauvignon blanc). Yum Yum!

I thought my food was lovely, beef medallions were cooked to perfection, so credit to the chefs! However a few of the party I was with were not very impressed with the fish, especially the battered salmon to start! Unfortunately though, the part that really let our visit down and we all said the same thing, very poor service especially the lady behind the fish and meat counter. I understand it was a Saturday night and probably very busy, but the lady behind the counter was out right rude. It’s a shame because it’s got the potential to be a fantastic restaurant.

We decided to have an impromptu lunch on a sunny October afternoon at the Miskin Arms. The restaurant has a 5-star hygiene rating and is set in lovely grounds with a spacious free car park. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival and were able to choose our own table despite the busy restaurant. This was our first visit to the Miskin Arms, but the signature "Martinez" touches reminded us of lunches at Le Monde and the Brasserie, bringing back fond memories. The food was fresh and piping hot, which was a real plus for me. The glass fronted serveries were beautifully presented with all dishes. We only had one glass of wine this time, but we will definitely return for an evening of indulgence when...

Hit and miss experience. Maître d', Stephen, surly and perhaps annoyed three of our party were five minutes late, as visiting from Scotland and got lost driving to the restaurant. Appeared displeased as left wine menu and no one took drinks order, eventually going to the bar to get served, ordering drinks for the table. Servers were pleasant staff and elements of the meal delicious but not all starters lacked consistency in quality. Salad on starter plates was wilted, with some leaves having brown tinges. Main courses much better, with the table ordering a combination of meat and fish mains, the latter fresh from the display and cooked well. Salad not offered as a side dish alternative to ch...

"My wife and I booked a table at the Cinnamon Tree on Tuesday for the Sunday early evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I checked their web site first before booking as the actual date was on the Monday. Finding out that they did not...open on Mondays we opted for the Sunday. I telephoned the restaurant and made the booking. the person on the other end of the telephone repeated my details and time date ect. We turned up at the restaurant to fined it was closed with a sign on the door stating that they did not open on Sundays and Mondays. We got back in the car and went to turn around at the back of the restaurant and I saw a door at the back of the restaurant open. I stopped the car and went to the door and found someone in the kitchen. I told them that I had booked a table for that night and he confirmed what we had found out with the notes on the door. He then telephoned the owners of the restaurant and he put me on the telephone and I spoke to the owners partner and she said they have not been open for several weeks owing to staff shortages. I asked the lady why the booking had been taken as the staff must be aware of when the restaurant is closed or open and I had gone by their web site. She replied we haven't bothered to up date our web site and will not be doing so and have not bothered to blank out Sundays on the book were the reservations are written in and just blamed the person that took the booking in the first place. Her attitude was I couldn't care less. At this point I was boiling as I have used the Cinnamon Tree for many years and have always had a good meal there. But after this episode they can go to hell I will never go there again."
