"A really lovely Sunday Lunch for three of us. Given the grandeur of the surroundings and the wonderful service and real tablecloths and napkins, I was pleasantly surprised that the food was only £20 per person. The Curried Cauliflower soup was to die for and the ' 'penny loaves ' that I remember from my childhood were warm and delicious. The main course arrived plated with a Yorkshire Pudding filled with root vegetables. I should have liked some green vegetables too. The desserts were very enjoyable and one of our group had the cheese board which is quite often at a supplementary cost, but it was included with three kinds of cheese, grapes, and the most wonderful biscuits I 've ever tasted. Service was exemplary and we can 't wait to visit again. Only one disappointment.....we hoped to go again THIS Sunday but it 's very difficult to contact the place. We phoned several times during Wednesday and gave up and booked elsewhere. We 'll persevere again though very soon !!"

We went for afternoon tea, food very nice and well presented. Tea made with real tea leaves. Setting is beautiful. We had a table at the window and looked out at the grounds bathed in the afternoon sun

The food at this restaurant is superb, the service is fantastic, and there is plenty of space so you never feel crowded. You can choose to have an intimate dining experience or sit in the main dining room.

I recently stayed at this hotel for one night and absolutely loved its charming ambiance. The buffet breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from. The hotel also offers beautiful walking trails through the grounds.

Such a shame. Turkey was salty and overcooked. My companion had beef bourguignon which was served in a ramekin dish with a pastry topping! How unusual. The meat was very dry and no gravy. Too salty. Dessert was Christmas pudding with watery (no) brandy sauce. Tastless. The only plus point was the friendly staff. We were sat in a dining room and were the only people there. No atmosphere for Christmas lunch.

My wife and I have stayed at this place four times. Geoff and Sharon are incredible hosts, always willing to help with anything. The rooms are fantastic, located in a historic house with centuries of history. The grounds are also beautiful. There is a small village within walking distance where we found a charming pub called Crosskeys that serves delicious meals. Overall, it's a wonderful getaway that we highly recommend. - Johnny and Liz

We were looking for a romantic meal out together and found this lovely location. The restaurant was decorated well and we got a window seat to over look the grounds as the sun was going down. We had 3 courses, including the cheese souffle, mackerel, and vegetarian pasta. Everything tasted amazing. The waitresses were helpful, although the wine server didn't look very happy the whole time. Overall we had a lovely evening and can't wait to go back.

After staying at the hotel, I was taken aback how friendly the staff were, from housekeeping to the receptionist the bar staff and the restaurant couldn’t do enough for me . It was lovely that all the Wolfhounds were catered for and that is no mean feet in itself . Although some of the decor was a little shabby and looking rather tired the housekeeping did everything they could to keep the place looking neat and tidy. I was told the hotel was being renovated slowly and I can’t wait to see the results on my return visit, wishing them all the best in the future.

After being a regular visitor every week for a number of years I was served as a starter the twice baked souffle which arrived like a pancake to my surprise. I tried it and it tasted like soggy scrambled egg. I had a quiet word with the restaurant manager . The rest of the meal was very average. However on returning home some 1 mile away I was violently ill and had to call the emergency doctor, The following morning I telephoned the hotel to let Sharon the owner aware. She as usual was not available. The next day the Hotel telephoned to say that they had cancelled our egular booking and not to go again. This was due to making a quiet complaint. I then visited the hotel one morning to discuss...

"My partner and I visited Caramaba Brazilian Steakhouse on a Sunday, attracted by the promise of a diverse salad bar and a variety of freshly prepared buffet meats. The restaurant ambiance was inviting, and we appreciated the intimate experience of being the only ones there a strong highlight being the spiced pineapple The salad bar did not disappoint, offering an array of options including cheesy mash, garlic bread, pasta, various vegetables, and nachos. It was a great start to our dining experience, and we were looking forward to sampling the buffet meats. However, our excitement waned when we encountered an issue with the preparation of the meats. Despite my partner's preference for well done meat, I had expressed a desire for medium rare, trusting the chef's recommendations. Unfortunately, both times my meat arrived, it was well done, contrary to my request. I brought this to the attention of the staff, hoping for a correction. Regrettably, even after requesting a second serving cooked to medium rare, the meat still arrived well done. This inconsistency was disappointing and detracted from an otherwise enjoyable meal. In conclusion, while Caramaba Brazilian Steakhouse offers a pleasant atmosphere and a varied selection of salad bar items and buffet meats, the inability to fulfill specific cooking preferences was a notable downside. Improved attention to customer requests and consistency in food preparation would greatly enhance the overall dining experience."
