"Ever since Pick More Daisies closed down in Crouch End, I've always ventured further afield for brunch. That is until now; now that Monkey Nuts has been discovered! Don't get me wrong, I have been to Monkey Nuts a few times before. But it has always been for drinks in their cosy sofa bar area! Monkey Nuts has a big glass fronted entrance which makes the restaurant feel very light and airy. There is the dining area at the front of the restaurant and another towards the back. Even though we were seated just by the entrance, we didn't feel the draft of the door and the outside air. Sunday brunch consisted of tea and eggs on toast! Toasted triangles of granary bread topped with softly...read more"

The staff understands the importance of customer service - they are very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The jerk chicken is fantastic.

Really good place for families and groups of friends. Burgers are good, they have great classics. Good mix of gastropub food! Good selection of beers and wine as well! View menu

local. lives in crouch end and this is literally around the corner from where I lived and worked! I arranged there a work Christmas party for about 20 of us and it was a tasty bite to say the least! great eating, not too expensive and great drinks!

good local burger. this is a good place to have local, I really like the burger and pommes from here. I never had anything else, and I wouldn't travel far to go here, but if they want to live in front of location and they want a burger, good milkshakes for a reasnoble price, then this is a good place to go.

I had a great dinner tonight for my man's birthday. the food was amazing and the service brilliant! our waitress and waitress were so friendly and helpful with their recommendations. was dessert from this world and complementary to the birthday of my husband, who was such a gesture. cannot wait to return. this was our first visit and we will definitely be back and recommend them. Monkey Nuts is a fun bar and restaurant. You can tell that the owner has but equal effort into both areas, and both are to a very high standard. It is definitely a place where you can eat, and drink and sit back and stay for a while. There is definitely an american atmosphere to the place, which is depleted in their food. And despite the food tasting great, particularly their burgers, there is a limited menu.

local and loved. I grew up in crouch end and I have seen many, many restaurants every kitchen and angle appear and disappear and so when every stay is in the rule from a ground. affennüsse are sitting at a place I can remember being at least four, maybe five different restaurants in his time, but no one has as monkeys. I once sat with family and friends for dinner and the burgers are always great, but recently I started having breakfast and brunettes. what I most appreciate, and this is not a little thing, is that I am often armed with a paper and want to sit down and eat alone. some facilities can't do that out what reason and nothing makes me...read more

"A friend and I stumbled on to this neighbourhood restaurant by chance; no research, no booking, no expectations. We were then blown away by the quality of the food: wonderfully fresh fish, beautifully cooked. The service is also exemplary. I've always enjoyed calamari, but this was by far the best I've ever had: truly succulent and juicy. The mussels were almost as good, and the sea bream kept up the standard. The spiced quince with ice cream made a nice change from baclava in a Turkish restaurant (they still threw in some baclava). The owner, Tony, provides excellent recommendations — make sure you take them! He knows what's fresh that morning, and how his wife cooks it. The bill comes hand-written, and Tony forgot to include the wine (obviously I corrected him). I can't remember the last time a restaurant bill made a mistake in the customers' favour! No service charge is included, and it deserves a lot more than the usual 12.5%. This is a wonderful, old-fashioned restaurant, run by a charming old couple, committed to maintaining old-fashioned standards. The food is more than great and the prices more than reasonable. Service is personal, honest and responsive (providing Tony turns his hearing aid on). Tony warns you if anything you wanted was bought in, rather than home-made. Why don't unassuming but wonderful restaurants like this get Michelin stars?"
