"The place is worn down. When you walk in, the lobby looks nice and impressive. Once you enter the floors to the rooms, the carpets are badly stained. There’s a moldy smell to the hall and the carpets are so worn down, they partially covered...them with improvised pieces of other carpet pieces. The whole floor was bumpy, the suitcase had a hard time getting over the bumps, so we had to carry it. We booked this place especially because they offered a sauna and wellness area. When we asked where to find the area the staff at the reception told us, we didn’t book it and it is not included in our room booking. We were very surprised as we especially looked for a place with these facilities. We went to our room and checked our booking, to realize WE DID BOOK IT. We have screenshots of the listed services to prove it. We went back down to the reception to show them our booking. It’s THEN they told us, the wellness area is closed due to constructional work. So it doesn’t matter whether we booked it or not. We paid additional to get access to wellness on my wife’s birthday, we drove all the way to have a nice evening at that hotel to be fully disappointed. They said it must have been a mistake by Booking.com, as they state it very clearly on their website and we should’ve checked their website instead of relying on Booking.com. This was a very frustrating experience with Hotel NIKKO and we’ll not return to this place."

Had a beautiful dinner at Nikko this month; the sushi was delicious, probably the best you can get in Cologne. The staff was very polite and, even though the immediate surrounding of the restaurant seems rather sketchy, the atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming.

Since many years I always like to come here for really good Sushi. Also my sons love it and enjoy it when we come here. Last time I was here with a very good friend of mine and we had a lot of different...dishes. I always like to sit directly at the Sushi Bar and watch the chef making the Sushi. Together with some nice cold Kirin beer it is best. Like always I made several pictures and load them up here too.

I come here already since more than years and this special hidden Sushi Bar, close to the East-Asian Japanese Culture Center has always been the best authentic place for fabulous Sushi! I travelled the world but still this is one of my favourite food...places, if it comes to Sushi! I can highly recommened this place! Take your time and enjoy! Today again I had a great dinner, with Kirin beer fresh tapped, several glasses of good dry Chardonnay, Miso soup, Edamame and some fine best Sashimi plus extra class Nigiri Sushi! Check my latest pictures and all the once I loaded up here on Tripadvisor to get an impression of this nice location. View menu

I went for Ramen, past Thursday... I have had Ramen many times and am happy to report that at this restaurant I very much enjoy it. Noodles were very nice; elastic, slightly chewy and tasty. I did ask whether it might be possible to have...them a little firmer next time. I was told that this would indeed be possible. Broth was good too; not too thin and very flavorful. Chashu ; Unfortunately there wasn’t all too much of it in my bowl, but in terms of texture and flavour it was one of the best i have had and enough cause for a overall. Egg; was a little harder than what I like in Ramen, but that may be Nikko catering to the local customer... The rice that came with my Ramen lunch set was good...

Since more then years I´m coming here to eat perfect sushi made by real japanese Ita-San, kitchen and service crew. One can sit direct at the bar or choose a table, but I prefer to sit at the bar and watch the Ita-San doing...his magic: creating and making real perfect Sushi which taste fabulous! I have been eating a lot of Sushi around the world, but this one is my home location. And it is that good, because close by is the Japanese Cultural Institute and the East-Asia-Museum, so the people working there like to eat here especially at lunch time during the week, but also for diner. This location has a real authentic japanese ambiente and interieur and also the japanese staff mainly speaks j...

"In a 5-day stay in Cologne and as a lover of Indian cuisine, we had planned the Ginti. The visit took place on Monday to the beginning of noon. The reception was very friendly and cordial by the Lord of the House. The decor in Ginti is very modern, stylish, but also somewhat sterile and only very discreet supplements with Indian accessories. Young guests will probably find favors in the style of the institution. The place was still empty and so there was a chance to get a brief conversation with the mistress of the house. She brought us the menus, and there were Papadam with three from a culinary point of view pretty boring finished dives. We chose both a mango sauce as a drink that was thin and most likely prepared on the basis of a mango powder. Disgusting! I ordered as main dish Malai Kofta, vegetable balls in a mild curry sauce with ginger, garlic, almonds and coconut. This is not only one of my favorite Indian dishes, but it is also a dish that places higher requirements on a kitchen and therefore cannot be found in any Indian restaurant on the menu. In addition, quality and freshness can be well valued with this bowl. I ordered this dish with a higher sharpness, but not through the sauce, but ultimately through the vegetable balls themselves. The latter were produced excellently and their loose inner composition had the freshness of the preparation felt. This was undoubtedly a 5-star court. My accompaniment had opted for Tandoori King Prawn Masala, marinated royal cloves from Tandoor in a sauce with tomatoes, cashew nuts and raisins. This dish was also very tasty, rather mild and very generous in the number of shrimps. The rice was served unfavorably on an open bowl and had to measure any fragrance and aroma that could originate from cardamom capsules or spice cloves. After the main dishes were convinced, we were curious about the Indian ice cream, Kulfi. This came visually well over a carrot cut into slices, but could not be along tasteful. It was crystallized, little creamy and the aromas of the aforementioned mango powder were reappeared. Conclusion: a highly recommended Indian restaurant due to the excellent main dishes, but not yet matured in its culinary periphery. Therefore, provisionally three stars with an inclination to four."
