The food was delicious and the service was friendly. I give this place a 10/10 rating - the best I've ever been to. The vegetarian options were also amazing!

This restaurant is solid with amazing sandwiches and burgers. The atmosphere is nice, the prices are fair, and the portions are generous. The lasagne was delicious. I will definitely be coming back.

Lovely lunch menu. Nice drinks selection and very friendly staff. We’ve been a few times and each visit has been pretty good. Only criticism is the price. Can be pricey for lunch. Need more deals on food to encourage us to revisit. York is a competitive place.

I had a starter of calamari, which was delicious and then the chicken bacon Royale burger as a main, which I always get and is also great the cheese topped crispy chicken fillets are definitely the highlight. I have been to Oscars a couple of times and it is always very tasty and doesn’t disappoint!

We stopped in for a drink and lunch. It was busy and we weren't in a hurry. While we got seated quickly, after that it went downhill. It took a very long time just to get a drink. Then once we had our drinks, we were told the kitchen was backed up and we wouldn't be able to get any food for an hour and a half. They did tell us we could get appetizers quicker if we only ordered appetizers. We did that and still waited about 45 minutes after we ordered. Had we known, we'd have passed on this place altogether.

I have been going to Oscars since it was in the old building, but it has gone downhill. The staff is unfriendly and the manager is worse. My family of 6 dined there, and our 17-year-old son ordered a Diet Coke but ended up finishing someone else's cider at the end of the meal. According to the law, "if you’re 16 or 17 and accompanied by an adult, you can drink (but not buy) beer, wine or cider with a meal.” The manager confiscated the drink, but when we pointed out that she was wrong about the law, she changed her reasoning from legislation to company policy.
