"Following the great reviews on Trip Advisor, we thought it necessary to experience Oz for ourselves and I'm thrilled we did! Having dined at quite a few restaurants in Bristol, I can honestly claim that this is one of my favourites! The venue itself was warm, inviting and authentically decorated. Unlike large chain restaurants, Oz has a charming uniqueness that urges you to return again and again. The menu had a fantastic selection to choose from, in particular a vast array of vegetarian dishes. For those that enjoy meat, you won't have trouble choosing a delicious, authentic Turkish lamb dish. The waitress was absolutely charming and had the service spot on. She was very pleasant and happy to serve us, attentive and knowledgable of the menu, which resulted in some wonderful recommendations of dishes. I shall return to this spectacular little find, in the very near future. As the dishes were reasonably priced, Oz is a great restaurant that you can return to quite often whilst still feeling like you're being treated to some special every time you visit."

I don't know what the fuss has ever been about. Here the service is welcoming but the food is entirely mediocre. Neither the ingredients nor what is done to them is anything other than very dully ordinary.

I visited oz restaurant with my husband on two occasions, the food is absolutly delicious and good value for money. The service is excellent and you are made to feel so welcome. I would go back. The best Turkish restraunt outside Turkey.

we enjoyed eating here so much last week that we went back again this week. i would really recommend the oz casserole not a casserole as I expected but a rich, silky aubergine puree with juicy, crispy lamb pieces on top. hummus is very good. mint tea with honey is lovely too made with tons of mint. the waitress was friendly, thoughtful and welcoming. recommended.

Located just off the main high street, this hidden gem is definitely worth a visit. We have dined here several times and have always been impressed with the delicious and reasonably priced food. Despite the quiet atmosphere and questionable music, do not let that deter you from trying this place out. The attentive staff and exceptional food make it one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. View menu

This is one of our favourite restaurants. We've been going for a few years now. The food, Turkish, is always excellent and the service, by the proprietress, is always charming. We have even brought our children there and they liked it too. The location, on the Triangle, is not great though convenient, but the interior is very nice and comfortable.I should add one caveat we've only dined there at lunchtime so I don't know how they get on in the evenings, when I imagine it's a lot busier.

We visited Oz last Saturday night, having seen the reviews on TripAdvisor, and had a great time. The place was full, always a good sign, but we'd booked and had a table in the window. The menu is extensive, with something for everyone including a good vegetarian selection. Our choices were all freshly cooked and delicious. We had Efes beer and the house red again very good. The front of house lady seemed to do everything singlehandedly (amazing! and was very friendly and welcoming. Overall we definitely recommend a visit.

Having made the mistake of not booking a restaurant on a Saturday night visiting Bristol we were very pleased to find this gem. Living not far from Green Lanes in north London we do know a good Turkish meal and this did not disappoint. Food was good value and served in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Shared starters of Bakla and Patlican Ezme both of which were enjoyed with Turkish bread. Then I had Chicken Couscous whilst my partner had Icli Kofte the latter being particularly interesting. Pleasing wine list too. In light of previous comments we have absolutely no connection with the restaurant. View menu

Don't be put off by the unprepossessing exterior this is one of the best places to eat in Bristol. It's been our default setting for ages now. The food is excellent, all cooked by Ahmed to an exacting standard (the tomatoes in my salad were peeled! . Vegetables cooked to perfection (I can highly recommend the Turlu vegetable stew best aubergine ever and the lamb so tender you could cut it with a fork. Sam, Ahmed's wife, is the perfect hostess plenty of attention when you want it and happy to explain as much about the food as you like but leaving you to get on with it if you want. I urge you to try it. You will definitely want to return.

Or at least be very careful what you order. The food is good but the quantities for some of the meals was pathetic. I 'm a student and I was at dinner with my family. Two of the party had the £10 set menu, which is a starter and a main course. These portion sizes were fair enough. You had one proper starter, and one proper main. However, the other two of us had the £14 set menu, which is a selection of dishes. However, you receive about six little dishes, each very small, and four of the six are non meat, therefore costing very little to produce. In your 'meal ' you also have 1 slice of hallumi cheese, 1 inch long kofta and another 1 inch variation on a kofta. The £10 menu was far better tha...

"Visited here in Sept 23 for an executive dinner that we were hosting for various senior business leaders. We booked out the whole venue, which was the perfect size and atmosphere for the intimate and exclusive feel that we wanted, plus a convenient location. The TV that shows into the kitchen was fascinating, and the record player was put to use towards the end of the evening! Caroline from the venue helped us organise the event in advance and was great to deal with. We were fortunate with the weather so were able to enjoy a welcome drinks reception out the front of the venue, and have the door open all evening to let the balmy night in. We had the 7 course taster menu and it was simply OUTSTANDING so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was, particularly the beef steak course! It was so tasty that I even enjoyed the fish dish (not usual for me! . Service on the night was exemplary, the courses were brought out at just the right intervals so you weren't waiting ages but also not being rushed. The chef came out to greet us after the final course, which was a lovely touch and meant we could thank him. Overall, we had really great feedback from our guests, everyone loved it thank you for making our event such a success! We would definitely book again, and I know a few of our guests have already recommended it to their own companies for executive dinners! Would not hesitate to recommend."
