"We made a visit to Bad Durkheim during their annual Wurstmarkt Fest and were thankful to find a restaurant open and available for lunch. The staff were friendly and spoke good English. The food was very good. In our group we had two pizzas ...the pizza margarita and a pizza romana and the penne arribiata along with a side salad. The pasta was, for once, actually spicy and the pizzas were both very good. We enjoyed the local beer and wine and apple schorle. Visitors should be careful to step down while walking to the restroom it is marked, but in German"

Very cozy Italian restaurant in the middle of Bad Dürkheim! The food is very delicious! Pizza wonderfully thin, but also the other dishes are very good!

Definitely recommended! We are often and always very satisfied. Whether pizza, pasta or just salad. The dishes are always fresh and tasty. In addition, the service is truly exceptional. Kindness and competence of first quality. I can only recommend the small chic restaurant in the heart of Bad Dürkheim. I look forward to the next beautiful evening in Romana.

Wanted to drink (4 people) on 24.05.2010 at 7.30 p.m. and put us at one of 10 tables in the outdoor area. after approx. 5 minutes came the service with the menus. When we said that we only wanted to drink something, we were expelled from the restaurant with the words: if you just want to drink something, then go into the coffee about 50m further turned around and disappeared. Naughty or new? Ps:1We had eaten there before

my partner and I stayed in bad durkeim 1 night. very quiet town. this place looked quiet and were seated outside. staff a little busy talking to locals, but friendly enough when serving. we just ordered red wine and a couple of pizzas. nothing special but not bad either. waited a while for the bill so went inside to pay. we were not setting out for a special night or meal as very tired with driving on a road trip all week so this laid back relaxed attitude suited us. visited this restaurant for dinner together with my friend who was in the city to visit. what a disappointing dinner, not to mention how embarrassing it was for me, as I wanted my friend to experience only the best of bad dürkheim! that was only moderate. Moreover, the waiter was very arrogant and spoke to us in a decreasing ton. I spoke German, but because my friend did not (understand how she is a tourist) he was impatient with her. there was no service to speak so. I will never visit this restaurant again.

"A year ago we were in Hambel's restaurant in Wachenheim for the first time. Since we had the visit in very good memory and we now know the Saumagen, we can even say that we are back. It was a surprise from our friends, because Klaus Hambel gave a brief and interesting introduction to the production of Saumagen in the entrance area of his restaurant to the butcher shop. Admittedly, do not stumble via the word, but if you eat it, you like it. Mr. Hampel welcomed the 12 participants with a glass of champagne, of course from the basement of the neighboring city Wachenheim. And then it started. We now know everything (almost) about the production of the Saumagen. Mr. Hampel is a specialist in production and now has several flavors in his offer, which is even exported to Taiwan. I have already said to the report on the restaurant that Saumagen's acquaintance is due to the Palatinate Helmut Kohl. In Deidesheim, Deidesheimer Hof, by Starkochs, the Saumagen by Klaus Hambel, many public guests were presented. Mr. Hambel always solves his conversation with nice anecdotes about Helmut Kohl and other celebrities. It also explains from which meat parts and other ingredients the filling is made and which spices are used. How long and at what temperatures the stomachs are boiled. In the meantime, a fresh, warm classic soap is brought out of the kitchen and personalized by the boss. It tastes great on a bungalow. As further samples we receive a piece of soap with truffles and soaps with sheep cheese and chili. You can buy other varieties in butcher shop such as soaps with plums or with green pepper or with chestnuts (cheese as the plum says) or placed in rum for the cold season with apples and plums. It was a nice interesting hour. Then there was a door to the restaurant where we could enjoy the Palatinate cuisine. Interestingly, the big cook, no bowls and no swimmers; no swamp that understands his craft excellently. The project will always take place on Friday at 11 a.m. But who wants to ask for the dates. This year was the last date on 18.11. The Palatinate Saumagen is absolutely recommended. I have eaten it only 4-5 years after I have met the quality and taste and I am completely convinced. You just have to try the Saumagen."
