"Ok, so I am biased. Soest is my hometown and I ate at this restaurant a lot when I was a child. But then I moved abroad and it wasn't until last year that I returned to the Moenchshof for a family meal. I loved...it! The place serves traditional fare with a Balkan twist and is full of atmosphere. The house was actually the birthplace of renowned painter Otto Modersohn husband of Paula of the Worpswede school and there are paintings and bits of information, especially in the Modersohn corner to the right of the main entrance. The people who run this restaurant are so nice and so charming, it is a delight! I had the pork medallions and they were beautifully done. If you like meat, you will really enjoy this place but they do cater to all tastes and are very helpful in suggestion options. When you are in Soest, give it a go you won't be disappointed"
