"Sehr leckere Küche, auch auf Sonderwünsche wird unkompliziert eingegangen. Wir waren auf der Durchreise und wären gerne auch am nächsten Tag nochmals wiedergekommen, leider fiel dies genau auf den Ruhetag. So kann man einen Abend toll ausklingen lassen- wenn wir das nächste Mal in dieser Region sind, kommen wir auf jeden Fall wieder. Weiter so und bis hoffentlich zum nächsten Mal"

"We caught the excellent STB sub-alpine tram with a wait enroute at Kreith. Much more fun than driving or the boring bus. We were warmly greeted by a lovely lady in her late 50s. My steak was a bit rare but that was my fault as I did not soecify how I wanted it cooked. I had a delicious dessert as sell. My wife greatly enjoyed her good. Serving sizes were generous. The atmosphere was excellent. Two of the three waiters were especially good. No wonder it was quite busy for Sunday lunch."

"We visited this restaurant as trip advisor reviews said it was great Austrian food. So we were excited to visit a lovely wee rustic looking guesthouse for the food. It was pretty outside and central location was good. But when we arrived it was as if we were a total inconvenience to them, as it seemed we were late at 8pm for dinner. They rushed around trying to sort a table out for us. The what seemed to be the owners children were working very hard to clear up after hotel guests had eaten. The platter was very nice, but the mains were either too rich (with lovely beef though) or too oily and dry, i was overall disappointing. The balsamic vinegar was mouthwatering. The beers were eidleweiss on tap at a reasonable price, lovely and cold. The buffet had been removed so they served us extra salad but i had to ask for this, it wasnt a problem, but it did take a while. After our meal we sat for ages and ages with our dirty plates and no drinks to the point that, i got up, put my jacket on, and just as i was leaving, the young teenager girl, came for the bill. Everyone seemed inconvenienced and we did not feel welcome. It really spoiled our evening. I felt sorry for the young staff who seemed to maybe be the owner's children, that were waiting on the tables. We were not asked if we wanted dessert. I was just really disappointed."

"What a place! What a restaurant! Allegedly the place was a mill in the 16th century and the owner's grandfather ran a milk bar and started to sell trout in the 1920is. The location is just 2 min. off the main road down into the valley near a small river. The day was blistering hot but down here with the help of the water the temperature was much more pleasant. After playing golf I was invited by a friend to have an exceptional dinner How right he was! By suggestion (not on the menu) I started off with a game soup which was super smooth with only a slight hint of game taste. As a main course I had a fried trout with melted brown butter on the side (not too healthy but yummy) and the usual parsley potatoes. By the way the tout is out of the owners own pond! You can't have it fresher. We washed the fish down with a lot of “Roter Veltliner” wine. A fancy and relatively new WHITE wine grape, which was a match made in heaven. As they say – the fish has to swim  For dessert I had blueberry pancakes with cream and some vanilla gelato on the side. I only choose this dessert as they told me that the blueberries were handpicked in the forest the same afternoon. (Remark: I hate the supermarket blueberries. They just taste like water in a black skin) Later in the evening when the business died down the owners – what a friendly people – sat down with us and had a glass of wine while telling us lots of stories. Thanks for your lovely company. All in all I would give the jewel of a restaurant a 4.5 out of 5 and I will be sure to be back next time I am around."
