"We had decided to dine out tonight as a family and decided to go to 'The Quay ' after having previously had an enjoyable dining experience there before covid. For my starter I ordered the calamari and crevettes, sautéed with cafe de paris butter sauce with chilli and sourdough bread. My starter was pleasant and the prawns were delicious, however the calamari was a little chewy indicating it had been slightly over cooked. My wife and son ordered the samosas which were accompanied with some tasty sides of chutney. They were tasty and flavoursome which both my wife and son enjoyed. I ordered the Calcutta Cod curry for my main course as I love fish. The cod was cooked perfectly and flaked off the skin in large white chunks. However in my opinion the curry just lacked depth of flavour which was disappointing. The service was polite and attentive without being too overbearing. My wife 's steak burger was cooked precisely how she specified she wanted it, which was medium to well done. My son enjoyed his chicken burger which was cooked nicely, also and the portion size of chips which accompanied the burgers were certainly generous and tasty. Overall a postive experience however sadly some elements of the food left me slightly disappointed but this was not a disaster by any stretch of the imagination. Looking forward to our next visit. Great food and a pleasant atmosphere."

The restaurant has a charming atmosphere and the staff is exceptional. The seafood and rotisserie chicken were both very good. It was not very busy for a Saturday night, but definitely worth a visit.

Food is 10/10.... Best seafood restaurant I have eaten at in the UK.... however service was lacking. No check back, had to find staff and ask for more drinks, had to ask for dessert menu... which resulted in us being there 3.5 hours for meal (they then turned the lights off on us!!! But as I said best food you will have....

I’ve always been fond of this restaurant. Its always done things differently and caters for different tastes. Meat or fish its not your chain restaurant style, you can adapt anything you want to suit to your own taste. On our last visit one fussy friend changed everything and it was no problem for the staff so clearly they are cooking to order. Great stuff

when we first went, I said I would get the lobster out of time when it looked as good as others ordered it. it has not disappointed both male was great eating is simply amazing! and I am really! this time we had to share the mixed grill, its for two, but joy could easily share that between four I was lost only for cake really there is one let down that the spicy starter we had it both paints and was over boiled both paints really hard to eat, which is a scandal, because this butter sauce comes so! delicious. We turned up at 7pm on a Tuesday night, as booked in advance. It was quiet to start, lights not on and looked possibly closed. Nevertheless, walked in and warmly greeted and seated. Nice big open restaurant and very friendly staff. Within half an hour the restaurant lights were on, a few more people and the atmosphere changed for the good We ordered drinks, calamari and crevette starter and sticky cauliflower, followed by cod curry and bengal prawns. All the food was plentiful and excellent quality. The curry had a depth of flavour, the bengal prawns huge, sticky cauliflower to start definitely recommend. The waiters are helpful and good quick service. The other main food served here is stea...

"this use to an old favorite restaurant of us many years ago before it changed the hands. we saw the alex polizzi TV program, but since then did not have the opportunity to visit. we have booked online. when we arrived, I tried to explain that we had reserved online, but the waitress did not seem disturbed, nor did she check. she wanted to tell us that the pizza oven didn't work so there were no pizzas or garlic bread etc. it was good to say before we came to our table and we appreciate it. the food was excellent and the chef came out a few times to check that everyone enjoys his meals, which was a very nice note. the waitresses were very pleasant, but seemed to have confidence in what they did. there were some confusion about our weeping mission, which was our fault. we were not offered when we arrived, and it was only after they came for our food order that we could ask for drinks. there was a pretty wait for our appetizers (tomatenbruschetta and mushroom bruschetta) and then the main dishes (tomatenwurst al forno and lasagne), but if that is what it takes to prepare the excellent food we enjoyed, then it is worth it. we also think that we are too familiar with restaurants that almost food of not particularly good quality. overall a very good experience and we will return. Perhaps the waitress could do with a little, but more workout to improve her confidence."
