"We were so looking forward to trying this place out for the first time tonight Friday 10th Nov. We are very disappointed. The service was lovely. The atmosphere was great. The food was rubbish, seriously overpriced for what you get. We ordered olives and scallops for starters. The olives and bread were lovely. The scallops were slightly undercooked, a bit wet if you ask me and the linguine was too wet also. We ordered the special steak. I insisted on no fat. My steak was literally just fat. My husband’s was ok, my son and I couldn’t eat more than half. It was literally riddled with fatty tumours. Seriously disgusting. The roasted tomatoes were not roasted at all. They were just warm. I don’t know. Add a bit of olive oil and leave in the oven a little longer. The chips were fine. My husband enjoyed the chocolate mousse. My and my son’ s sticky toffee was ok but the custard is warmed up in microwave. It makes it lumpy with a thin coat on top. Not great. But most importantly the table was sticky all over. Use an actual sponge with actual soap and dry with a cloth. This is the only way it won’t be sticky! We paid £150 with no wine. We had a complimentary bottle with the steak special. We won’t go again. The food was not at all the standard it should be. Maybe it was a bad day. The place was busy but this is not for us. We like gourmet food and we thought that it was what we were going to get. If you want delicious food then this place is not the one. The manager and our waitress were lovely but that just wasn’t enough. Talk to the chef and don’t serve disgusting steak specials. Parking: We were told we had to pay for parking when we got there. That should be all over the website. So you get one hour free which means you have to leave in the middle of the meal to pay. Inconvenient for everyone. "I was not too impressed with the order that I had from this chip shop. The cost being the major factor of my low review. I understand that right now in the UK, prices have gone up and therefore cost of takeaways need to go up aswell in order to make some money from their sales. But, the cost of £33.50 for a large portion of chips, 2 bits of fish, and 1 battered sausage in my opinion is simply too expensive. Which also worsened my experience, was for a large portion (which states for 3 people), it could probably do only about 2 people if that. I will say however, the staff were very friendly, and the food itself was actually pretty good. The chips were well cooked, as was the fish. Regardless of the good points mentioned, I do not currently recommend this fish and chip shop due to the cost and portion sizes. If they were to increase the portion size, and reduce the cost (even by a slight amount), my review would change."

"6 weeks ago we gave this restaurant a 5+star rating. It was the best food we'd had in a Southampton restaurant. Fast forward to Father's Day and we could barely stand the hideous dishes put in front of us. We asked the waiter if the chef had changed but she was new so had no idea. The bad: The tempura prawns were poorly battered overcooked lumps of something, definitely not tempura. The noodle dish was tasteless and lacked ingredients, the rice dish was okay but lacked ingredients and had to be seasoned, the crispy beef was a lump of gooey mess on a plate and definitely not the superb crispy beef we'd been introduced to previously. The Spring Rolls were undercooked doughy chews with a hint of veg inside and a revolting dipping sauce that probably should've been cooked and none of us could stand. DimT have you actually tasted that sauce? The good: 2 of the 3 dim sum dishes were tasty. But you can't really mess up a steamed dim sum then. The staff are always great! If you going to pay higher than normal prices in a restaurant, then the food has to be good. Would we go back to DimT? Not in a hurry and if we did, we'd refuse any dish that comes out inedible again. This is necessary to teach the cooks (can't call them chefs in this instance), what is acceptable and what isn't. We may go back because we know DimT has a formidable award winning chef hidden in the cupboard somewhere and we'd really like to taste their food again. One last chance one day, maybe."

"We were regular customers over a period of 7 years but food quality started to become quite hit and miss. However the service has always been excellent. We decided to give it another try on Tuesday Pie mash) night but wished we hadn’t bothered! We decided to try a couple of small starters, my husband ordered calamari and I opted for mini Camembert/ chutney. These starters were not reflective of the price £7.25 each) as when they arrived there was only 3 calamari rings and the Cheese was hard to find under the herb crust which was not mentioned on the menu. There was more chutney and one slice of baguette which tasted stale. The waitress was very professional and acknowledged our issue and agreed to take off our bill. Unfortunately things didn’t get much better as When my chicken mushroom pie arrived which did look delicious turned out to be undercooked. The pie was nice and brown on top but raw underneath which was a real shame. The chicken also looked processed with very little taste. The mash and gravy was very tasty and the fish pie my husband had was also very good. I know hospitality currently has lots of obstacles due to increased costs but food quality is a must if they want returning customers. Again the service was excellent and Jess our waitress dealt with our issues promptly and this was reflected in our final bill."

"we enjoyed our meal the first time that we went and today the 2nd mai back to celebrate my 80th birthday. if something was better to eat. the homemade steak and ale pier was enjoyed by some of our party and the extra jug of the engraving was very well preserved. I had the salmon salad from the special board and it was delicious. the house made cheesecake was an absolute joy, everyone who had cleared it their plate. I had a nice cup of coffee. friendly, welcoming pub with delicious food. I can't recommend it enough, we're definitiw back."
