Lovely food, was hot and delicious. Staff friendly and welcoming. They were lovely with the Children Will definitely go again.

A very pleasant dining experience,Food was delicious as well as being hot. We had a short wait but that was because food was cooked fresh. Staff were very friendly. Much improved experience from a previous visit some time ago. Good luck to the hard working new owners

Excellent food and service. Visited on a Friday evening and I have to say that the new people are doing a cracking job. The food was absolutely delicious chicken tenders meal, honey glazed salmon couldn't fault. Our waitress was so courteous thank you. Do pay a visit as the food, etc deserves the praise. View menu

My god this is the worst place I’ve ever eaten ,got there at 13.50 place was freezing cold ,ordered drinks and then after 40 mins they came over to say they’d ran out of beef we had to have turkey 30 mins later the dinner came after 80 mins and was stone cold ,only peas and watery cabbage ,absolutely disgusting

Warm welcome, Lovely lunch we had half Fish and Chips freshly cooked to order. Place is lovely and clean with a well stocked bar. Having had previous poor experiences under previous management it’s nice to have people who are intent on giving excellent quality of food and service you deserve to succeed. This deserves the support of the local community, we will return.

Went in function room with friends, pre selected menu, served around 9.30, not enough food ran out of rice etc, manager very rude said he had cooked 3kg and that there were only 8 people who hadnt had any. After 15 mins we were called back to what looked like packet rice, manager said that would do. He was an awful man, insulting one of the friends. There should of been more than enough food as ten people had paid for food but not turned up. View menu

Heard about the refurbishment and decided to give it a go on the way home from hospital. Hubby went in to the loo whilst I parked the car. Got inside and plane was cold and empty. Waited for hubby to decide where he wanted to sit and whilst I waited a rather large rat ran from behind the bar area into the gents toilet. Needles to say we didn't stay. Manager obviously seen us leave and heard me screaming so came out to the car to ask what was wrong. Didn't seem to believe me. Hope he has brought in pest control. Shan't visit again.

We decided to try The Red Lion, after a family recommendation. The pub has recently changed hands and it seems that the new team are really doing a great job. We shared the garlic mushrooms to start, which was very well presented and very tasty maybe could have done with a bit more garlic for me, but overall a lovely starter. For the main course, I opted for the steak pie whilst my wife had the rump steak. Both dishes were presented well, and were piping hot. The steak was cooked to my wife’s liking and was well worth the money. As for the pie…. It was jam packed with steak in a delicious gravy, encased within a beautiful pastry parcel. Greeted well by (I think Katie), Looked after by every member of staff we encountered. Piping hot beautiful food, still at 5pm (Which is rare at the end of a carvery) The meat was well prepared and of a high quality, the beef in fact was one of the best I’ve ever had. I then had cheese cake dessert, again up there it’s one of the best. I can’t recommend enough, Go early to avoid disappointment, and go hungry!!! Or you wont fit it all in,(they’re not shy on the portions) As we left I overheard the chef to the kitchen staff, briefing them, and pretty inspiring toward them, And then I heard the owners asking the waitress is she getting home safe is someone coming for her, So a family run busine...
