"the trout were as always very good but the rest was a flop! very bad and unprofessional service. the order was incorrectly received and so it didn’t work with the afterservice of the second trout at all. After a long time we still came to it.Now we had no more cutlery and had to organize ourselves; and this on a terrace not occupied at all. the cook was alternately busy with the roughing of the floor and preparation of the orderings. regular meals were served in the wrong table. as crowning we received the bill with listed drinks that we never consumed.But the sihlmätteli is no longer as usual."

After the beautiful autumnal hike from Sihlbrugg, delicious trout and fish fingers with a tasty ravioli were waiting to be eaten. Fine chocolate cake and a pannacotta for dessert. Then we went back along the Sihl back to the start. View menu

Extremely long waiting time (over an hour for salad and another 3/4 hours for the main course). We wouldn't eat the food (gnocchi with asparagus and wild garlic pesto) again. Unfortunately, the service allocation is not correct (5 different service staff for our table. Drink orders don't come or don't arrive correctly). Apart from the beautiful location, unfortunately not recommended.

It take a local guide or a good GPS to get there, completely isolated, way off the beaten tracks, hidden behind hills, valleys, woods, farms, etc. but set in a nature shrine out of this world ... probably unreachable on a snowy day even with a 4WD. But the target is worth every bit of effort. Paradise setting, casual and humorous service, very limited selection of main courses (trout or beef) but absolutely delicious. Unforgettable Kirschtorte and SWISS cheesecake (nothing to do with its US namesake)

"Für diejenigen die Meeresfrüchte und Fische über alles gern haben, sollte ein Besuch bei El Pescador in Sihlbrugg ein Muss sein. Wir wurden von Freunden zu einem Mittagsessen ins El Pescador eingeladen und haben eine aussergewöhnliche kulinarische Reise durch die Ozeane erlebt. Es muss vorab gesagt werden, dass El Pescador nicht nur ein Bistro/Restaurant, ein Fish-Shop, ein Take Away sondern auch ein Kochstudio mit Eventlocation ist. Der Geschäftsführer von «El Pescador», Daniel Christen hat uns auf dieser „Reise“ persönlich betreut und zu einer lustigen, entspannter Stimmung viel beigetragen. Unsere Reise hat mit einem Meeresfrüchten Cocktail angefangen und wurde mit Austern fortgesetzt. Danach folgte eine Auswahl von rohen Krebsen und dunkelroten Garnelen die wir mit etwas Olivenöl, Zitronensaft und Salz gewürzt haben. Als Nächstes wurde uns ein Assortiment von Muscheln auf einem fein abgeschmeckten Risotto serviert. Der Höhepunkt unsere Kulinarische Reise kam aus der Tiefe des Antarktischen Ozeans. Es war ein gebratener Glacier 51 Antartic Toothfish (Dissostichus eleginoides) auch Schwarzer Seehecht genannt, obwohl es sich hier in Wirklichkeit um keinen Seehecht oder barschartigen Fisch handelt. Der Geschmack und Konsistenz des Glaciers 51 ist absolut einmalig und findet nach unserer Meinung keinen Vergleich. Es muss nicht betont werden, dass alle Speisen frisch zubereitet und von bester Qualität waren. Zu dem feinem Essen haben wir einen Mantele Sauvignon Blanc 2016 aus Südtirol getrunken, der ausgezeichnet zu unserem Menu passte. Wieder am „Land“ bekamen wir frische Erdbeeren mit Vanilleglace und Espresso. Am Schluss durften wir einen Blick in das Kochstudio werfen wo acht Kochplätze und acht Backofen den Teilnehmern zu Verfügung stehen. Das Ganze war richtig einladend um hier einen Kochkurs zu belegen.Zum Schluss bleibt nur noch einen Dank an Daniel Christen und unsere Gastgeber zu sagen für den gelungenen Nachmittag."
