"For a long time, Riva del Fiume has been one of the best Italian restaurants in Ingolstadt. Maestro Luigi always understands to enchant his guests with authentic dishes from his apulia. Today he went over with new creations. Ambience: The Riva del Fiume (for German river banks is located in the Donau-Reckclub on the Wester Ringstraße. Parking is sufficient. After a few metres of tennis courts you can reach the club's house. An outdoor staircase leads to the restaurant. Small pot plants stand along the stairs. Around the restaurant there is a beautifully designed terrace under a roof from which you can watch the tennis players. The outdoor area is welcoming and well maintained. The place itself is comparatively nobel for a club. The ceiling is made of light wood, like the parquet on the floor. The walls are delicately painted and carry atmospheric paintings. The curtains on the windows are skillfully draped. The tables carry freshly solidified white fabric table cloths, also the fabric napkins are blossom-white and artistically folded. The tables are professionally covered with water and wine glasses and polished cutlery. Welcome: The greeting of Luigi was as always very warm. You know for years, and he likes to bring one or other attention to his regular guests in the form of an aperitif or a broschetta as an appetizer. A very beautiful gesture, as I thank Luigi! Co-owner Salvatore was not present today. He's been in the boathouse in the reservoir since he opened. There are two new waiters who also warmly welcome the guests. There are several options: on the one hand the menu. It includes a variety of appetizers, soups, meat and fish dishes as well as desserts. The daily dishes are not required on a black wooden board that is placed on the table. There are more unusual dishes such as a four-course surprise menu, pasta with fresh truffles, steaks from Angusrind or Scampi with Babykalamar on Rucola. Traditionally, Luigi comes to the table with a silver tray and presents the fresh daily fish offer: Goldbrasse (Dorade, Wolfsbarsch (Branzino, tuna steak and swordfish this time. The best recommendations result from a personal conversation with the Maestro. His advice is as always true and has often produced new creations that are implemented ad hoc. Like today. Food: To welcome, there was a glass of Prosecco. Nicely dry in taste and well cooled, it made you want a relaxed evening with delicious dishes. Next, a classic broschetta with tomatoes, onions and fresh herbs often happens on a tinted white bread slice, this time it was a completely new creation. On white bread were grilled sampi and pepperlings. Here too, fresh herbs gave the kick. Great praise for the kitchen! My daughter and I followed a recommendation from Luigi today, which was only in conversation. I was looking for a carpaccio and wanted to order the two types of carpaccio (small slices of salmon and beef on salad bed when Luigi had one of his creative ideas. Finally, it became a marinated carpaccio by the pasture bark with roasted pine nuts on field salad (13.50 euros). The meat was thin and of the best quality. The marinade tasted sharply and with a hint of honey. The pine cores rounded off the work perfectly. Carpaccio vom Weiderind Most of us decided today for swordfish with Mediterranean vegetables (23.50 euros, after my daughter had the youngest, and we were delighted about it. Swordfish A large piece of fillet from swordfish, perfectly fried and of excellent quality. Texture and consistency are similar to tuna. A wonderful aroma, the taste was brilliant in the palate. Nicely decorated with some branches of fresh thyme. The vegetables consisted of cauliflower, broccoli, carrots and some potato columns. Also the fresh vegetables were nice bite-resistant and aromatic, the potatoes were uniquely good. I should ask what kind of potato it is... I took another wolf bass (Branzino, also with Mediterranean vegetables (17,50 Euro). A wonderful fish, naturally submitted by Maestro Luigi personally. The fried skin was particularly sharp. Those who give up their joy are themselves guilty. My son had no wish for fish this time and ordered a lasagna (7.50 euros). The quad was dressed on a large square dish, with a mirror of tomato cream sauce. The noodles were perfect al dente, the meat filling was delicious and the baked cheese was nicely spicy. When choosing drinks, we left on Luigi. He recommended the food a white wine, a Gregante Greghetto (23.50 euros). A good recommendation, not too dry, slightly fruity and well cooled. As dessert, most took a Fungho (4.90 euros). An ice-creation in the form of a mushroom, vanilla ice cream with cocoa powder on the mushroom head. Looks funny and tastes great. Fungho My Principessa today has dared a Cassata Siciliana (4,90 Euro), a Sicilian speciality of various types of ice with candied fruits. The pistachiosis layer was particularly remarkable, which was excellently harmonized with the candied fruits. You should try such a treat! Cassata Siciliana I swore my sweet wish with a soufle cioccolato (4.80 euros), a chocolate cake with hot chocolate filling. Also a pleasure! The warm cake was excellent and not too big from the portion. The hot filling of delicate chocolate was nice creamy and scattered on the tongue. I also liked an affogato al caffè (3,50 euros). Affogato al caffè (ital. drowned in coffee is a speciality of Italian cuisine. A bullet vanilla ice cream is poured over here with espesso. Again a full hit! Affegato al caffè Service: Here, too, Luigi is the central person. Always as if he would guess the thoughts of the guest. Perfect service, excellent advice, friendly, attentive and fast. The two young waiters are here for a few weeks. Here too, the professionalism of the two is noticeable. There's nothing about qualified workers. Friendly, attentive and flink. Empty glasses are presented immediately, the dishes are immediately removed. Finally a great praise for the kitchen team. Without their commitment, it would hardly be possible to enjoy the most unusual food in this quality. And that with really bearable waiting times. Today, Luigi proudly presented a certificate from the TripAdvisor rating portal that he had probably recently received. A Certificate of Excellence for numerous great reviews from satisfied guests. I can only agree with it: Conclusion: Everyone knows the feeling when you come home to the family. There is great food, a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and interesting conversations. Like Riva del Fiume. A visit is absolutely recommended!"
