I visited Route 2 for breakfast a couple of days ago. A warm friendly welcome, fabulous good value breakfast served by lovely staff who care about their customers, looking forward to my next visit!

This restaurant is excellent for breakfast! The eggs were cooked perfectly and the portion size at the Half Route spot was just right. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the bathrooms are also very clean.

Perfect getaway from the city. I will definitely be booking another trip. Beautifully clean and comfortable with a nautical theme. Its in an ideal location in the heart of Topsham with beautiful views. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food delicious in the Route2 cafe/restaurant. Cant wait to go there again.

My friend and I had a wonderful experience with afternoon tea at this restaurant. We tried a cheese scone and a plain scone with jam and clotted cream, and they were absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this experience, whether you live in Topsham or nearby, or if you are just visiting. It should definitely be at the top of your to-do list.

We are currently in Route2 in Topsham. This is a cosy and loveable cafe with a good range on the menu. There is a lovely chatty, happy feeling where dogs seem welcome. There are families here and the atmosphere is just lovely. It is a few metres from the river and the amazing quayside. The staff are so friendly and great at their jobs. They warned us of a 20 minute wait for food (which was fine) and then delivered in 10. They are attentive without being obtrusive, and the food is wonderful. It’s easy to get to on the train from Exmouth or Exeter and well worth a visit We have never eaten here before but will most certainly be back.

I stopped by this restaurant for breakfast twice while cycling on route 2 cycle path and was very impressed. The bacon and sausage seemed to be of higher quality than what you typically find at cafes, and the other ingredients were also top-notch. The meals were served hot and perfectly cooked. They had a good selection of gluten-free options and the chef was able to time both the gluten-free and regular breakfasts to come out at the same time, which is a rarity. The cafe gets busy quickly but we were fortunate to always find a table. The only downside was that we finished our tea before the breakfast arrived, but this is because the food is made to order and worth the wait.

Route 2 offers fair and honest food with a friendly atmosphere. We visited on 12/08/2023 and spoke to the new owner of 10 months who is doing a great job. What's so good ? there are no pretensions that you are there for no other reason is to be served good honest food. Having previous visited a well known hotel in Topsham and been ignored and found the staff with an attitude problem it was great to get excellent service at Route 2 keep it up. Okay, it's a road side café next to the estuary but the owner and staff understand that to be pleasant and prompt and deliver service with food is what is needed they take the medal.
