"We recently visited this restaurant after a long time, and unfortunately, it did not live up to our memories. We only had hot drinks and cakes, but we were surprised to see that the bill came to nearly £30 for the three of us. The tea servings were not very generous, and we had to request more milk. It would be better value for the price if each person had their own teapot instead of a shared pot with a small jug of hot water. The cake tasted average and seemed commercially made. We were disappointed to be charged an extra 80p for non-dairy milk, especially considering its widespread availability. This resulted in a basic coffee costing almost £5. Surprisingly, it was more affordable to have a local beer than some of the hot and cold drinks on the menu. Despite these issues, the waiting staff were the highlight of our experience as they were helpful and friendly."

Went for lunch and everything was adequate but didn't really stand out. The prices were fairly expensive too.

Regularly meet up with a group of friends here. Fast efficient service and good food. Good selection of reasonably priced meals and drinks.

Went in Saturday at lunch time and it was absolutely lovely food. My neice and I had the Beef burgers and the quality was top notch. My Sister in Law had the lemon curd cake and she said it was delicious. The service was fantastic, we had a very friendly girl who looked after us and she was extremely helpful, attentive and friendly. Would happily ear here again.

This was a pleasant experience, as part of a Mother's Day visit to Salts Mill. Due to the open plan ex-factory floor environment it can be quite noisy, especially when it's busy. You can also expect a queue when it's busy, unless you book a table in advance. Service is good. Friendly and proficient. The menu is fairly modest but there is also a specials board to bolster the selection. The food is good, nothing particularly special but fresh and tasty. Portion sizes are reasonable as are the prices.

After not visiting for several years, we were extremely let down by the breakfast food at this restaurant. We fondly recall our previous visit, with its innovative menu and delicious locally sourced ingredients. However, this time we were disappointed to find that the hot chocolate was made with water (yuck!) and the veggie sausages were described by my partner as tasting like cardboard. Despite this, the service was good and very friendly, and the atmosphere remained as charming as we remembered it. It's just a shame about the food.

Additionally, the £3.80 flat white with oat milk, which cost an extra £0.80, should have been a warning sign. Charging such a high price for a small amount of oat milk is unreasonable. It's disappointing to see a restaurant taking advantage of customers with dietary restrictions or those who prioritize sustainability in 2024. I may return next year, hoping that they take customer feedback into consideration. Implementing an affordable kids menu and offering free or cheaper milk alternatives would greatly improve my experience and prompt me to update my review next time.

Arrived at the diner at 11.30 and there was no queue. Several tables were free. A gentleman who appeared to be a manager (no uniform) showed us to a table for 2 and told us that the table was needed at 12 so we would have to be finished by then. He took away the menu said only cake toasted food was available. At that point we felt very rushed had to call a waitress over to take our order asap in view of our limited time. The waitress was lovely. We ordered a pot of tea for 2 and 2 toasted current Tcakes. Service was quick but we were only given 2 small butters and jam. Had to ask for more butter gave jam back. Total bill was over £16. I thought this was very expensive for our order. My main...
