The prices in the Schlusselzunft are worth every cent. We spent a romantic anniversary and were delighted with the polite and yet funny staff, the excellent fish and perfect wine. This is the place to go for special occasions!

We went for a daytrip to Basel and decided to have lunch here. We had a two-course lunch (in the restaurant and not in the brasserie). It was very tastefull and well made up plates. The service was very good and friendly. Would recommend this restaurant !

Old style, very good found, outstanding service, high prices. That about sums it up. Historic building, central location, inventive dishes not always successful . I had an excellent Wiener Schnitzel, fish was first rate, starters interesting. Good white wines by the glass, red less impressive. Service José most experienced and efficient. Manageress ensured everything ran like Swiss clockwork.

Recogimos unos amigos en el euroairport de Basilea Mulhause y..,la cosa era pasar a ver Basilea en coche,pero como cobran para todo nos fuimos un autobús y como los horarios de las comidas no son como en España,el primero que vimos con buena pinta fue este tres sándwiches y una pechuga de pollo rellena y poco más ,si estás forrado, si que puedes entrar y comer bien,si vas justo,piénsatelo bien .

We've long been searching for a restaurant that offers a properly nice weekend lunch experience .. and finally found it. The food at Schluesselzunft has been absolutely amazing. Interesting and great combination of flavours. There's the Zunft menu which is great and offers the latest ideas of the chef. Then there's a special menu that has a theme, like game, or currently truffles (very good by the way), and they have a vegetarian option as well.

This is fine dining at Swiss prices but forget the cost and enjoy exceptional food and impeccable service. It was a perfect evening before starting out on a bike trip down the Rhine. My wife had a deconstructed gezpaccho and shrimp risotto. I had a perfect dish of fresh goat cheese and fig ravioli in a cream sauce and rack of lamb. We had a very nice rose to go with the meal. All dishes come in small or large plates. A great place to dine in Basel.

I wanted to post this update to give this interesting place it's fair due. Last time we had large business group for dinner and it didn't go so well. The space itself is worth mentioning: beautiful antic tiled stove, modern mural on medieval theme, chandelier...This time it was a dinner for 2 and it was a very positive experience. We went with salad and traditional dish of veal liver. Our main dish was perfectly executed and seasoned. Service was good. They offered 2 amuse bouches.

Wir haben uns vor dem Besuch des Basler Tattoo spontan entschlossen in der Schlüsselzunft das Nachtessen einzunehmen.Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Das alte Zunfthaus ist sehr schön und man fühlt sich wohl. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich. Sehr leckere Gerichte sind aufgeführt. Die Weinkarte hat es uns ebenfalls angetan. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und kompetent.In der Zunftstube haben wir vorzüglich gegessen. Nicht günstig aber ein gutes Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis. Wir werden uns auch in Zukunft in der Schlüsselzunft ein sehr gutes Essen in einer gepflegten Umgebung gönnen.

I felt that this place was very uneven. The cevice appetizer was really poor. Some sort of white fish left too long to cure in lemon juice made for a dry bite of untasty seafood. The rack of lamb was well prepared and cooked as requested. The grilled avocado served with it did not taste like anything. The duck breast on the other hand was perfect and the side of chanterelles and edamame very original. The service was ok but not really seaming to care much about the job. In the end the experience was just about average, mixing high and lowlights. Nothing really wrong but also not much to be excited about.
