excellent. it was very busy so we had to wait for previously booked table. herr shafique offered some drinks on the house. Once we got our table, the employees were fantastic, eating was the best and at a very reasonable price. definitiw will go to the site from now on.

We eat here regularly or get the takeaway. Food is always fantastic. The main thing is the service and welcome. Very professional and welcoming. I am 57 and have had my fair share of curries all over the UK. Shafiques comes in my top 3 of all time. Highly recommended. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner View menu

Food was nice but the meat was a very small portion, the majority was sauce and veg for the curry we ordered. I expected more as it was quite expensive. Also felt that we were rushed to leave by a waiter (figured that it was the owner as his name was the same as the restaurant) kept hovering and asking if we finished do we want to order anymore food etc. Service: Dine in

It seems like Wednesday might be the chef's night off. I ordered a takeaway and was disappointed to find the vindaloo sauce was bland and watery, and the chicken was questionable (we specifically ordered and paid for tikka meat). This was a stark contrast to the excellent takeaway meal we had from here on Saturday night. I can't believe they were okay with this leaving their kitchen.

"I would first like to start out by saying that this is a gorgeous little cafe, with very friendly staff and great options for everyone. I have been eating at The Orchard for a couple of years, and have loved it. I am plant based, and have always found their vegan options to be brilliant! However, last week I accidentally ate meat for the first time in 6 years due to fault of the chef. Twice in a row, I have visited and ordered a vegan) seitan Reuben sandwich, and have been served the real meat version instead, which I believe contains corned beef traditionally. Luckily for me, the first time this happened, the waitress noticed before I could even eat any, and they replaced it quickly. I understand these things do happen, and am a big believer in second chances, so I went back recently. I ordered the same sandwich, and took 3 mouthfuls before realising something tasted unfamiliar, so I checked inside and found real meat. I was devastated when I realised, and so was the waitress and manager. The manager refunded our total bill, and was incredibly apologetic and mortified that it had happened. I know this wasn't any fault of the front of house staff they listened carefully. I feel like I can't go back, unfortunately, as I can't risk eating meat again. And I'm really sad that's the case, because this was one of my favourite spots to eat and I'll miss it so, so much!! I hate to rate a small business poorly, but I really felt I needed to warn any non meat eaters, as I can only imagine how much more devastating it would be if this happened to someone that gave up meat for religious or allergy reasons. If you eat meat then there's no need to worry, as this place is fantastic otherwise. If the cafe replaces their chef then I would love to come back one day... :"
