"We arrived on Mother's Day, having traveled from near Preston, only to find out that there was a mix-up with our reservation, and we didn’t have a table! It was disgraceful. We were directed to another venue where we were assured we would be accommodated. However, by the time we arrived, our lunch booking had been mistakenly changed to a dinner reservation. With three small children who were hungry and tired from the journey, it made for a very unpleasant experience. The staff at the alternative venue, Brook Meadow Hotel, did their best to make up for the chaos created by Sheldrakes, but there were several others in the same predicament as us. We will not be booking with Sheldrakes again. As a poor attempt to make amends, we were offered a free bottle of wine, which was shocking!"

This is a lovely restaurant with reasonable prices. I reached out in advance to request a window table, but honestly, all the tables looked appealing. The food and wine were excellent.

Cannot comment on Sheldrakes as between OpenTable and the restaurant my Mother's Day was ruined. I booked a table for 4 last minute on OpenTable web page only for Sheldrakes to contact me later on to advise that the booking was cancelled as the restaurant was fully booked. How can a computer system accept my booking and then for it to be cancelled? I kept getting review requests from OpenTable so I can only assume they believe that my booking had been honoured. Is it a case of the computer database being wrong or human input either way thank you for ruining the day.
