"Sometimes, things happen for a reason! We were in search of an Indian restaurant and were recommended the Masala Zone chain, but they were fully booked! So we continued on our way and ended up at Le Sitar restaurant. We were warmly welcomed and absolutely loved our dishes (biryani and chicken tandoori masala), the naans were also excellent as well as the typically Indian mango ice cream (kulfi). We also had Indian beers. The quality-price ratio is excellent for a city like London, I can only recommend it to you!"

Very tasty and authentic indian food at Sitar at the Strand. Very friendly service and nice rooms. We can clearly agree with all the previous reviews. We will come back.

Once again, we were extremely pleased with the food and service at this restaurant. They handle larger groups efficiently, ensuring that everyone's food arrives at the same time, unlike other restaurants.

Been to hundreds of Indian restaurants in the U.K. and this is one of the best. Try their lamb. And their dhall and everything else.Parathas lovely and crisp as well.Super helpful and friendly staff, and fair prices. View menu

we dined here 9pm on a saturday and it was quite quiet with just a few other tables occupied. The staff were friendly and welcoming and we had a very tasty meal- there are the usual British Indian recipes, but also some unusual sauces.

I dined at this restaurant with a group of nine before a show. We tried a variety of chicken, lamb, and vegetable dishes, all of which were delicious. The prices were quite reasonable for London, and the service was attentive. I would definitely dine here again.

I had a spectacular dinner here a couple of years ago so chose Sitar for a birthday gathering recently. The food was fine, typical of every other Indian restaurant, nothing outstanding like it had been. The restaurant was very hot, and we had to ask repeatedly for cool air, definitely affecting our enjoyment. My friends all declared it very good, but I had hoped for what it used to be. View menu

This really should be a Very Good classification. But for two reasons I have downgraded. Firstly as a solo visitor, they automatically added a service charge, why? It's a personal gripe. Secondly I thought it was a bit pricey although it is London). The place itself is nice inside. The main course I had Gosht A La Nilgiri), was very tasty. Not too hot as described) but nicely spiced with tender chunks of lamb. The Keema Nan was also fine.

Dined here with a colleague who has used this restaurant for 20 years. It is very good food, owned and run by Bangladeshi staff, and not your standard 'western curry ' fare. We shared a medium strength chicken curry and a hot lamb curry they were excellent and full of interesting flavours. The side dishes were OK basic but tasty. The prices are reasonable and the staff friendly. Will return and recommend to anyone fancying an authentic no frills curry

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
