"Consistently shocking service. I feel like the person who works there has a future as a doctor's surgery receptionist, they do as much as possible to prevent you ordering. They try and get you to use a machine to order, which often doesn't work, and if you mention it you get scowled at. They seem unaware of how to fix it. They are extremely rude when you arrive and if you're lucky enough to get their attention they treat you as an inconvenience, manners don't exist. They are obviously focused on Deliveroo rather than walk ins for lunch. Sadly it's nice enough sushi (albeit a very confusing menu that makes no sense on the ordering machine) but the service is rude and confusing. This has happened on too many occasions now and I won't be returning."

Delicious, best sushi in Cardiff by a long stretch. Masterfully made and very friendly. We just had a huge feast of platters at a great price.

Disgusting service! Ordered and paid for food drove 15 miles to pick it up, when I arrived I was told they didn’t have enough food so he was cancelling the order!!

Order a sushi box as we had a late lunch and didn’t fancy a full on dinner. Reasonably priced, it was made on the go so felt fresh. In comparison to the Japanese restaurant a few block down, the sushi was much better. Didn’t try the hot food so can’t comment.

We had some lovely takeaway sushi last night that we collected from the store. Unfortunately our order didn’t get received immediately, so we had to wait a little longer, but the staff apologised and made our order as quickly as possible, and were kind enough to pop in a few extra bits for us. The food was so nice, we really enjoyed the customisable sushi. View menu

Visited this takeaway under the name Sooshi, had two meals-all very nice. 1st meal We ordered chicken katsu rice, sushi platter and prawn katsu noodles. The sushi was very fresh and you get to choose 4 different sauces and toppings as well as make your own platter (24, 32 and 40, I think it was). 2nd meal We ordered a 40 sushi platter. It was all fantastic.

I've ordered sushi from sushi day three times over the summer and it has been consistently DIVINE. The sushi is so fresh and creative. The crunchy rolls are another level of delicious with a delightful variation to the traditional texture. The salmon is always fresh and tastes superb. I think it's great value at just over £30 for 40 pieces. The people that run it are always so friendly too. Definitely give it a try!

"It was the most bizarre experience dining here. First when we arrived in the restaurant, our group set up was that there was someone on each end who was sitting facing an empty chair on the other side of the table. Upon enquiry we understood it was a covid measure, however never had any other restaurants requesting such seating arrangements in the past 20 months. We ordered two split pots, a non-spicy broth for one side of the pot and a spicy broth for the other side. The staff came to confirm that we wanted spicy/non-spicy in each pot. Yes, we said. To our shock when the pots came, one pot was spicy/spicy on both side, and the other was non-spicy/non-spicy on both sides. This was after the staff had came by to confirm that we wanted a spicy/non-spicy set-up, and in the usual situation a person wanting a spicy broth would not have asked for a split pot. We raised this to the staff and were clearly unhappy about it, though did not insist on having the broths changed around. What happened next made it the most awkward and uncomfortable dining experience ever. From where we were sitting, we could hear the owner reprimanding the staff for the error, throughout our meal. We understand mistakes occur and if the owner was unhappy about the mistake and genuinely wanted to apologise, taking the initiative to change the broth to the right setup, or a complimentary drink or dish would have gone a long way. But no, he chose to reprimand the staff within our hearing for the whole dinner (which didn't help the situation one bit and made the experience worse! . We felt sorry for the staff. Even with the hospitality shortage, that was a completely wrong way to help the staff improve, nor help retain them in the long run. I don't remember anything about the food, although photos did show a good range to choose from. At the end of the meal we each received a box of hello panda, which might have helped, if not for the fact they were expired. All in all, would not recommend."
