"I recently tried the chicken pakora starter at this restaurant and was extremely disappointed. The portion size was tiny, resembling battered chicken micro chips. The dish was dry with no flavor and the pakora sauce was a strange yellow color and tasted bland. I would not recommend wasting your money on this dish."

Booked a table at the last minute and we were accommodated in the cosy restaurant with exceptional service throughout. Food was piping hot and faultless. A genuine pleasure and we couldn't recommend highly enough. Thanks!

Great food, big portions, v happy. Service was shocking. One hour to get the food out. The place is tiny but don't let that put you off. Tips. Don't need the gents loo. It's the smallest in the world and every can hear you. Don't go when it's busy Do enjoy as the food is stunning

The service at this restaurant is flawless, with attentive and caring staff who are genuinely interested in ensuring customers have an excellent experience. A group of 7 cyclists from the Southeast just exclaimed, "The food is excellent," which speaks volumes. Congratulations on being a complete gem!

"On our last day here, killing time before the ferry, decided to try luncheon here. No expectations either way. And we were TOTALLY wowed it was just excellent. Trying not to put too many superlatives in this review, but it was really, really ace. We had a lovely table by the window overlooking the harbour where you could see dog walkers, children in wellies, crabbing, and little boats coming and going. Classic Islay. Then I have to mention the food. Jeez, it was top notch, and huuuuuuuge portions. I don’t think we’ve ever had four such consistently generous and fulfilling portions before. We had the scallops (massive, juicy, plentiful , the Crofter’s Platter, which was cheeses, hams, sausage rolls, salad, bread, chutneys; the soup massive bowl, loadsa crispy sourdough bread, and the fish and chips which was so big it draped over the plate! All delicious. Our guy, Andrew, was superb, so attentive and smiley and always bringing us more things, spoons, drinks, more bread, spoons, he was great. And we had a lovely chat with the very friendly and nice proprietor. She was wonderful. Really seemed to care about the place and her team. She told us all about the hotel and stuff it was really cool. We will most certainly come back here next time. You can’t necessarily get the best table every time, but we won’t mind if we don’t! : Oh, also, lovely clean loos!"
