Excellent breakfast food was so tasty and fresh. Service was excellent and staff very friendly. A little pricey but it is in the heart of the city. Would definitely recommend a visit.

I recently had one of the best breakfasts ever at this restaurant! The pancakes were absolutely perfect and the service was excellent. I have no complaints at all about this lovely small business.

Two more visits during a long weekend trip to Edinburgh to this fantastic venue. Excellent service and consistently high quality food. Particularly excellent coffee and the pancakes are still brilliant.

If you are a fan of pancakes, this restaurant is the perfect place for you. The peach and brown sugar pancakes are absolutely delicious, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. Make sure to book in advance to secure a table!

Super cute breakfast spot in Newtown. We happened upon it in our quest for brunch at The Pantry and were so happy to have found it. We enjoyed the fresh tastes of veggies in our omelettes and bagels and I loved having a side salad. I felt both healthy and nourished upon exiting this adorable spot beneath the stairs.

We didn’t have reservations but we were lucky to get a seat. The food was truly fantastic. All ingredients were fresh and prepared perfectly. I had the avocado toast with poached eggs and salmon. Best breakfast of our trip. Even though it was extremely busy, the service was excellent and staff very friendly. If you can get in, go! You will start your day off great.

Although, Tani Modi could improve their cappuccino as I think the foam is too light, this is the place to go if you like pancakes! At Tani Modi, they know their stuff. The filling is generous on the top of the pancakes and even between the layers of pancakes! Pancakes are light, flufy and served with seasonal fruits. They are so delicious! You can add their peanut butter with whisky sauce which is to die for.

Fantastic experience. Delicious, rich coffee and nice tea. Great homemade sourdough with a full flavour and nice crust. Very nice black pudding and haggis as part of the Scotsman breakfast. We had an allergy concern at the table with onion/garlic and they handled it without a worry. We actually noticed they had prepped the avocado salmon toast with their usual avocado mash, likely realising last minute it had garlic mixed in. Without even alerting us, they prepped one anew and set it aside as if it never happened. Very professional, caring, delicious food, probably the best breakfast/brunch we've had visiting the UK. Down the steps is a quaint little cafe which has bright music and nice charm. The menu provides what every brunch seeker desires sweet and savory. The cappuccino and lattes were made with a skillful Italian hand by the magistrate herself. I ordered the toasted whole grain bagel with crispy bacon and scrambled eggs. The side salad of arugula was simple and fresh. The bagel and bacon could have been a bit crisper but were expertly prepared and delicious. The eggs were fluffy and nice.Silvia Colloca would approve.
