"We had booked Sunday lunch for 1.30pm for 5 people well in advance. Although the food was very good, unfortunately we did not enjoy the experience as it was crowded with too many tables squashed together and extremely noisy . We were sitting back to back with a table of young women who very loud , so much that we really needed ear plugs! I mentioned it to the staff, to see if we could have another table, but he said that 5 was an awkward number!! ' Just ask them to keep it down a bit ' Also we were squashed onto a table for 4 people not 5 people, although we booked weeks beforehand. Because of this I would never return there again. Shame as it was an historic lovely old pub , but no wonder Queen Victoria waited outside in her carriage!"

Great service, great food, great staff, a character full building, we keep going back, which isn't easy because we live 120 miles away but it's worth a night in a hotel.

Terrible and expensive meal. Ordered pork which was so tough I sent it back. The replacement was marginally better. Service was slow and we were left in a side room alone. Won't be coming back View menu

I brought my wife here last night for birthday. it was a great night, the staff was fantastic, the waitress who served us was very friendly and helpful. eating was amazing, I had her duck scotch ei, which was beautiful, followed by her beef wellington, which was also amazing. I can't very recommend this place. I will definitely eat again for something more great.

We stopped for lunch on our walk of The Great Park to find a pleasant pub in a picturesque setting. Surprisingly spacious with several interlinked rooms around a generous bar. Just the two cask ales on when we visited and the one sampled was well conditioned and served by friendly staff. Small but sufficient menu. Food was well cooked and presented. An excellent lunch ... Worth another visit. A little on n the expensive end.

It was a little quiet when we visited which was a shame as it deserves to be busier. The food was really nice (haddock chips) and the service was excellent. The staff were very quick to attend the table and friendly. We were able to finish our drinks slowly after we had finished eating, with no feeling of pressure at all from staff to order more or hurry up which was nice. The pub also felt clean and well maintained and the toilets were also modern and clean. View menu

First visit to the Thatched Tavern. Obviously a very popular place tables returning. Service overallwas good. Salmon starter was very good as was the Sea Bream fillet with linguine. Two adults enjoyed the roast beef dishes and our daughter enjoyed the kids sausage and chips. Thank you Daisy for looking after us overall. Only reason for not giving a five star is that the parking is very limited on site meaning having to park on the road, and can mean in our experience having to pull rather tightly up to the verge.

We had a lovely meal at the Thatched tavern. They served us very well and met our needs, we had a dog and two little ones with us, they were very helpful. We also had a nut allergy and they were helpful making us feel comfortable. We had fish and chips which was recommended and the burger was also a great, very well cooked. Portions were very big. Gnocchi was okay, hence the 4 stars, rest of food was great Kept checking on us, food came quickly and the pub inside is lovely and cosy Toilets really clean and updated!

"We were visiting Windsor and read the good reviews about this place and were so pleasantly surprised to find such cosy and beautiful place . The food was delicious. Lots of starters to choose from. We had squid and warm salad for starters... The squid...was so delicious and beautifully cooked, and had subtle spicey chilly and onion dressing. I had warm salad and the pork just melted in my mouth . For our mains we had steaks , sirloin and rib eye and my partner said this is the best steak he had ever had in UK . The mushroom sauce I had was so authentic just perfect. The sides of duck fat chips and cauliflower cheese are must try ! I never though that I'd love cauliflower but I'm already a fan after trying WG's special side of cauliflower cheese. Generous portions and such lovely staff ! They made us feel welcomed always with smile on their faces and very knowledgeable and chatty as well. The whole atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed and it had real good vibe .The play list was such a nice addition to our experience , such good mix of all types of music. We were sat at the table close to the bar, and we've noticed that the whole place is decorated with good taste and attention to detail. This place is a true gem honestly , and I'm not surprised now that they have so many stars reviews ! We will definitely come back when visiting Windsor again ! My sincere compliments to the chefs as well ! We've learned that the owner of the restaurant is the Chef at the kitchen so what a delight , when so much attention to details is payed to food ! You created a food momento that we will not forget ."
