"Very average, I 'm afraid. But at least the bill wasn 't high. Not bad ... but far from good... apart from the ambience, which was pleasant, apart from being a bit crowded. Ambience perhaps helped by having our meal early... the room wasn 't as blighted by noisy drunks as is too often the case these days. Service was slow, and entirely driven by server 's electronic order pad. I 'm not sure she looked at us once, and I am sure she never smiled. By the time she came for drinks order, we were ready with starters and mains orders, but didn 't get a chance to order more than drinks, which were slow to come. Tried to order a drinks refill from someone who was clearing plates, she couldn 't take. Tried to pay main server for the meal, No, you have to pay at the bar. Food also: No bad ... not good. Fried onion rings? Very like the ones I take from the freezer and heat in microwave."

This restaurant is a charming spot to dine with a cozy atmosphere and delicious food. We visited twice during our break in Brean and everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. An added bonus is that they are dog-friendly.

Once again, we enjoyed a fantastic roast at this restaurant; it has become our favorite spot after a morning of shopping at Clarks Village. We have no complaints about this place; the food and service are top-notch. We brought our whole family, and they were not disappointed.

Had Sunday lunch here today, for a birthday celebration. Cannot rate it highly enough, the service was exemplary and the food first rate. The staff really couldn't do enough for us, including hiding then bringing out a special cake for us. I look forward to going again. We all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

The roast dinner was perfect and the service was quick and polite. We called on Easter Sunday for a table and they were able to accommodate us last minute, which was great. The roasts were absolutely delicious and we were happy we stumbled upon this place after going out for a walk. Would definitely recommend it 100%.

Fantastic meal as ever, the service was faultless and Craig the owner/chef is incredibly friendly and personable. I can’t recommend this establishment enough. So many pubs have static menus however at the Ashcott Inn the menu is fantastic and as for the specials board, it never disappoints. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Went for lunch here today with friends and kids. Amazing food, welcoming, friendly staff and our bull terrier Brock thoroughly enjoyed his beef and veg followed by peanut butter ice cream from the ‘doggie menu’! I have a feeling this place will become a regular favourite for all of us and we will definitely be back soon! Thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcome!

What a Wonderful find! Welcoming pub with a very hardworking unflappable barmaid who worked well under pressure did not bat an eyelid when dealing with a rather bothersome customer in front of me. Visited with friends had a lovely time. Pub has a lovely ambiance with beautiful decor throughout. Choice of food from menu very good when presented with good timely service was out of this world! Food full of flavour was presented very well. Congratulations to the sous chef, you doing an Amazing job. There is even a ‘ doggy menu’ pooches are made to feel welcome we didn’t have a dog accompanying us, but observed another group who had). Plenty of outside parking. We will Definitely be visiting agai...

"Been wanting to try this ‘alternative’ pub for a while. Large car park with plenty of space, no steps or slopes into the bar. Access for buggies, wheelchairs etc should be okay, my mother walks with the aid of a frame and has no issues. Inside the decor is certainly alternative but in a great way, loved it! Plenty to look at, keep you entertained and talk about as you wait for your food or just pass the time. Staff were friendly and welcoming, there was just one guy running the bar, taking food orders and bringing food out; I thought he needed a helper or coworker really. There is a decent bar area with seating or there is more ‘restaurant’ style seating further back beyond the bar. We chose to sit in the bar area seating which is a mixture of booth and chairs. Dogs are allowed in which is great, there is free Wi-Fi which is good as my mobile signal was very poor. The menu is standard pub food, quite a bit of choice and plenty of options for gluten free. I chose to have the fillet steak cooked medium, I had a starter of garlic bread but chose for it all to come out together. Mother had beef brisket loaded fries, the portion was massive so I had to help her finish it. The steak was perfectly cooked, I chose to have the peppercorn sauce; this was a bit watery and bland. The steak comes with chunky chips, peas, mushrooms, tomatoes and onion rings. For dessert I had the nutty apple crumble with ice cream, it was okay. Overall this is a great venue with acceptable food, friendly staff and awesome decor that will keep you talking and looking all night. Based on this experience I would visit again."
