"I have not been to The Bell for several years and a friend had recently been so we decided to go. The welcome was excellent, the lads behind the bar, who also served the meal were attentive and polite. I feel that the female host could have interacted a little more, though I appreciate they were busy. We were sat at a table in the bar initially and though our table was ready, we were not called up to it until after the reservation time, and it took a while to take our order. Having said that, after we ordered the food came fairly swiftly. I can’t criticise the quality of the food; it was well cooked, hot and tasty. It was expensive for “pub grub” but it wasn’t your normal pub grub, the quality was that of a good restaurant. The chef came out to talk to us, yes he was sweating a little; it was a warm and muggy evening and he was working in a hot kitchen. He asked us if our meal was alright and we had a short conversation together. Having looked on the website prior to visiting, I was aware of the cost, so there was no surprise. If I was going to criticise anything, I personally like real ale, but I don’t like Timothy Taylor beers, and that is all the had. There are a number of local breweries who make excellent ales and maybe The Bell should support them. All in all a good evening and I would definitely go back, providing my table wasn’t by the door to the kitchen!"

Had a great night at The Bell with a group of 6. A great atmosphere and Paul and his staff were amazing in every way. The food was superb and could not fault it. Will definitely be heading back.

Some people comment saying the food and drinks are expensive, but when you bear in mind the exceptional quality of the food, attention to detail, and excellent service, this makes it work worthwhile. An ideal place to go for a special occasion too.

We have visited this cozy pub in Coleby for the second time. It is clear that Paul and the team take pride in their work here. The atmosphere is lovely, the service is excellent, and the food is fantastic! The Sunday lunch menu offers a wide variety of tasty dishes. You must try Paul's Bakewell Tart - it is especially delicious!

I love it here. Food is always absoutely fantastic. Yes it might be a little bit more expensive than other places but you get what you pay for and this is really good quality food. Staff are always really friendly and attentive. I have a gluten itollerance and the chef will come and go through the menu and tell me what I can have. Very accommodating and helpful. Now when I go in he even gets the kitchen straight on to warming up my gluten free bread for me. I eat out regularly and this place is one of my favourites.

The food at this restaurant was outstanding from beginning to end. We were shown the menu before being seated, and I chose the pigeon for my starter and the duck for my main course. Both dishes were cooked to perfection, with the duck being cooked perfectly and still slightly pink. My partner had the fillet steak, which was also cooked perfectly but had a slightly peppery taste. We finished our meal with a cheese board, which was a wonderful end to our dining experience. The service was exceptional, and anyone working in the service industry could learn a thing or two from this restaurant's customer service. Overall, an excellent dining experience.

Upon first impressions, this is not your average pub food but more of a gastro pub experience, as reflected in the cost of the meal. Our group of 9 adults had pre-booked a table and upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by the owner in a traditional country setting. The owner and staff provided excellent recommendations from the comprehensive menu, which included a Sunday roast beef option, as well as a variety of other dishes such as fish, chicken, and starters. The Lincolnshire Poacher soufflé was particularly outstanding. The mains were equally impressive, including roast beef, fish and chips, Pappardelle Pasta, and corn-fed chicken with black pudding, all presented beautifully and tasting...

We had been to The Bell Inn many years ago and remembered it as somewhere we had enjoyed visiting. When friends staying with us suggested a meal out we picked The Bell on an impulse. The positive is that the food was exceptional, really high quality in all respects. I had the rack of lamb which was superb as was the halibut which our friends chose (albeit a little smaller in size). The desserts were, without exception, fantastic; almost worth a visit alone. Sticky toffee pudding with a butterscotch sauce, warm bakewell with honeycomb ice cream and bread and butter pudding were the order of the day. The reason for my heading is the cost. There is no denying that the food was worth the cost bu...

Arrived for a birthday meal with my family to be greeted by the owner sat in a chair and his opening words were Oh, come to give me something to do have you? not the best welcome. The young lads that were serving were great, polite and attentive and quickly showed us to our table and took our drinks order. The menu had a great selection of dishes and we placed our order. The food came pretty quickly and was hot and well presented. I selected the seafood Thermidor which excellent, but rather small for the £10 price tag! The sirloin steak for the main was cooked to perfection and served with an exquisite pepper sauce outstanding! But unfortunately the owner was constantly patrolling the restau...

"Very good. this renovated and updated gastro pub has a beautiful, high-end feeling, without too posh. the personal is pleasant, real and well maintained. good drink selection! music selection didn't seem fit, but not extraordinarily. eating is exceptional, but, based on some personal preferences, there were slightly smaller disappointments with each dish. all were presented beautifully! the scallop starter was perfectly cooked, but there was an unexpected sticky texture on the sea red side. the chilis needed something sweet to balance them, but it was a nice warm pop. the acid from the grapefruit mixed with the petersilie mayonnaise drizzle, but both were delicious. some either flash-frozen or dry germinated greens gave beautiful texture, and the dish as a whole was beautiful. the duck ice starter was rich without being hard. slowly boiled (inspiring sous vide,) the egg was perfect. it was on a bed of slowly baked cheekwange, which is longing! some picking mushrooms have also added beautiful acid contrast. the brioche disc on which everything sat was not my favorite, but again can be personal preference. it seemed too thick, dense and sweet for the court. either would have been a nice sourded or an airy crawling cut my choice. again a very tasty dish. the healbutt main was absolutely wonderful! in butter lubricated, with fennel, white asparagus, a butter sauce with raw and squid-ink pasta. all with dill fronds. only small critique was the toughness of the tips of the braided fennel without knife, which is suitable for cutting through. a unique and very pleasant experience! it was great."
