Fantastic home cooked pies to choose from Beef,lamb,pork, game, vegetarian etc etc. All cooked fresh while you wait. Cozy village pub atmosphere. Booking recommended as only a small venue. Just amazing.

we came here last night to be a family meal that was removed from newcastle this place was the best pub food we ever had, the cakes were excellent, service was fantastic and so a cozy friendly place we felt so welcome x

If you can’t go to the Chestnut Horse, you can always bring the Chestnut Horse home. Ordered the Irish Pie takeaway tonight, which has again never failed to disappoint. Just fantastic Lucy highly recommend! Keep doing what your doing stay safe. Xxx

Have been meaning to do this for a long time. To begin, the food and beer were spot on, but it's the staff who deserve a mention. Went there with my wife and in laws. My father in law suffered from dementia and the patience shown by the staff was commendable, they did scampi for him and it wasn't even on the menu. Nice pub too.

this is an amazing pub that personals where so friendly, they could not do enough for us, my wife has some intolerances and they went out of her to make sure that we are for. I had a Cleveland Piee followed by the sticky toffee pudding oh my days it was a taste sensation from beginning to end. I could not recommend this pub enough. it's a Jewel!

an amazing discovery and worth the journey to come through the countryside. a beautiful pub with a friendly owner and personal, a place we gather and chat with everyone. Many pubs have pees on their menu, which are only glorified in the ground with a baked hat, and this pub restored mine believe in the pub food community! something dramatic I know, but it was amazing. I had the cannon and the black pudding cake that was rich, delicate and tasty, and then discovered that it is actually homemade, with very local ingredients. only brilliant and at a great price. highly recommended for atmosphere, good food and quality yorkshire hospitality.
