"The Coffee Pot in Whiting Bay is much larger inside that first appearances might suggest. It is also modern and very smart and has a fine selection of original artwork on the walls at most reasonable prices The name of the cafe could also be misleading because it is much more than just a coffee shop and has a decent menu of hot and cold sandwiches, snacks etc. We simply had coffees which were very good and, dare I say it, made a pleasant change from the ubiquitous coffee chains. This is a really nice cafe and the prices and service are very good."

Staff were very friendly, coffee was cheap, tasted nice. But looking at the price of food was on the expensive side.

The most delicious quiche I’ve ever eaten. Friendly and efficient staff in a spectacular setting. I ate outside with my dog and they provided him with water too.

Our favourite cafe. Whatever you chose, you will not be disappointed. High quality food made with love in clean, friendly environment. The home baking is second to none. View menu

I have never tasted cheese scones as delicious as these. The staff was lovely and friendly, and the coffee was really good. The entire menu looked very tempting, with a great selection of delicious-looking cakes. The views were amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Last time we were on Arran, the café was sadly closed, and so we were very excited to try it this time. Very friendly staff and a lovely selection of cakes and traybakes to choose from. Lovely views from inside the café and from the outside seating. Would recommend if passing and we will return soon.

As this was the only place open in the village I decided to accept the distinctly tourist prices and the inevitable greetin ' wean , but as I went to sit down I was intercepted by a member of staff; The table 's booked. Just the typical Scottish Tourist Industry experience if you try to eat local , I will bring my own food in future. View menu

I stopped at this restaurant to refuel after hiking up to Glenashdale Falls. I ordered a toasty with salad, and the homemade coleslaw was delicious. The scones, which were obviously freshly baked, were the best I have tasted in many years - even better than my mother's. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit, as it will not disappoint.

I want to thank you for warmly welcoming me and my large backpack, as well as for serving me delicious, hot, and wonderful food. The waitresses were lovely and made me feel very welcome. I am currently walking the entire coast of the UK solo to raise money for the RNLI, using my Big Agnes tent named Aggie. I began my journey on July 4th and have walked over 9,000 miles so far. Your hospitality meant a lot to me, so thank you.

"We were a party of 5, on a cold, very wet Saturday evening, coldest so far I would say! We drew up and saw a young family of 3 sitting with jackets on in the conservatory area, we were a bit concerned! We took a...seat at the back of the conservatory which proved to be a big mistake! There was a terrible draught coming from behind me, I did mention it and was told it was 27c at the middle of the room, but not where we were sitting!! I mentioned it a few times and sat with my shawl scarf on throughout! I pulled down the window blinds hoping that would help, nope!! We ordered our food, I asked about a vegetarian option for my husband, our waitress did say he could a veggie option on the curry and the tempura or risotto, which was helpful! I had to ask what was the soup of the day and also the pate!! I did feel that maybe in this day and age there should have been a small dedicated vegetarian area on the menu, but that’s just my opinion! 3 of our party had starters which were great, Cullen skink, scallops and langoustine tempura, Main courses arrived, 3 fish and chips, one lemon soul and one veggie tempura, all were excellent except for the veggie tempura which was large shards of onion and carrot in an albeit lovely batter, but not all vegetarians like huge chunks of vegetables! 4 of our party had a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, which was plentiful! Overall we had a pleasant meal, little or no atmosphere though, one of the younger waitresses (white shirt, black skirt) was friendly and more talkative, the waitress (dressed all in black)who served us was, we all felt a little disinterested and lacked any empathy with the guests! We asked for our bill, the youngest waitress came with the card machine and felt how cold it was only then did she check the windows to find there was one opened, hence the draught, which spoiled our visit because we were felling it cold!! We paid the bill and left a tip on the plate, no one came to say thank you for you custom, or have a nice evening, nothing!! All in all it was pretty inhospitable! Value you for money, it was good for the standard of the food!"
