"We live a distance from here and on spur of moment went. We didnt realise it was a sports bar, had a nice welcome and asked if we could move from our reserved table as the lighting was dim. No problem at all. Lots of tvs in there, had a local match on, it was very noisy, load, which we didnt know of. Putting that aside we ordered steak for our meals. Rib eye sirloin, paid at bar and only waited bout 10-12mins for our meal lovely and hot, well presented and such a beautiful tasting steak, chips peas onion rings and mushrooms we on plate, very enjoyable and cooked perfectly as we asked for it to be done medium. Pudding were very reasonable prices as were the steaks. Again good quick service, cheesecake with cream Apple Crumble with custard was piping hot. So for 2 courses a drink each came to £37. We thought it was very reasonable price wise and was pleased with service! A bit too loud for us but may suit others We will return"

We called in for our evening meal(a party of four) The cricketers is well knownfor its steaks but also for very tasty curries. I had the chicken tikka masala withh the usualrice etc.I also ordered a keema naan thinkingI would just try a small portion. It was so thin, and well filled that I ate the lot myself. Do try The Criketers

Went for a family meal and ordered sirloin steak which turned out to be so tough it was inedible. Complained to young man behind the bar, whose response was to roll just his eyes. He eventually came over took my meal away only to return it moments later saying the chef had said there was nothing wrong with the steak. Now unless he had taken a bite out of it, then I don't know how he came to that conclusion. I was refunded my money without any apology whatsoever. Extremely poor food, service and attitude. Certainly will not be returning.

Visited with a coach party of Bolton Wanderers fans on the way to watch the whites against Coventry...at Birmingham (long story! . Staff were very welcoming and 50 Wanderers fans sat down to eat from the very diverse menu covering pub and grill classics through a very comprehensive Indian selection. Given the numbers that converged on the venue they did a fantastic job of getting the food out to all in a timely and calm fashion. Everyone was very satisfied and the Liver, Bacon and Onions was exceptional..swapped the chips for mashed potatoes which were excellent. We'll be back...Whites Army!

"The food is really enjoyable. Some of the meat can be a bit dry in parts but generally speaking it's quite good. Is it better than what you'd get at the average chippy? Not for what it costs. Ordering two box meals and a couple of sides got the cost up to £50 with charges. Considering a large mixed meat in naan at my local chip shop is £7, it's incredibly expensive. There's far too much waste which really needs to be addressed. Every food item is at least two layers of packaging deep. With a box meal you have the outer corrugated cardboard box, then all dividers inside, then the kebab sandwich is in a box of its own, then it's in a foil wrapper, then it's in a paper wrapper. It's all needless waste and when we're all trying to be more conscious of our carbon footprint this just isn't required. There are some nice things that just aren't replicated elsewhere, their kebab bread is fantastic and very similar to a traditional Turkish pide. Their sauces are really good too. Full of flavour and balanced well with the meat but I will say there's never enough of it. Three little poxy pots is all you get.The fries are average. Nothing remarkable about them. The spicy fries are a tasty addition but this option does bump up the price but again, perfectly average.Overall I'd recommend that it's worth trying at least once but the prices are way over valued and quantity in some areas lack. If they cut down on all the needless packaging they could even bring the prices down but £15-20 for a box meal (one can of pop, one kebab sandwich, one fries and two spring rolls) it's a bit of a joke."
