"I’m writing this review within the same evening as the ``event``, as I want to make sure that all relevant facts are ``fresh in mind`` and conveyed properly.I’ve been to the Cross of St George (Paris, rue St-Georges, 9e arr.) on several occasions and I would say that my experiences have been good until this evening.May 29th 2017, 18h30, walking in after a hard days’ work, with a craving for a tall cold pint and a hunger for a cheese burger. Upon my entry familiar faces … the waiter and waitress that are friendly and professional. I order my burger with the expressed and repeated feature of well-done beef patty. I explicitly heard the waitress give my order to the cooks as I was only a meter or so away. While said burger is being prepared the young waiter proposes a new ``brew`` which I partake in, and by golly, the young lad has made a great suggestion again !The burger and fries are served at my table. As I’m removing the unwanted salad and tomato (yes I did also indicate that request to the waitress, and she did pass it along to the cooks), I had an inclination to cut through the patty to see if it was actually well-done. By all means it wasn’t rare and red through-and-through, but there was enough ``deep pink`` to warrant a refusal. No harm done, I simply asked to return the burger and give it a couple more minutes on the grill. What happened next leaves me without words. When the waiter and waitress asked the cooks to ``rework`` the burger, they (the cooks) both stared me down, on more than 3 occasions, within a minute or so. Now I never done this before, but at one point I actually walked up to the bar and through the opening in the wall I asked to one of the cooks if there was a problem. He responded ``no``, but with a smile that I would qualify as ``sincerely`` arrogant. While business is good this complaint can certainly go unnoticed. But then again, bars and pubs are passing fads unless you maintain the utmost professionalism with your customers. My apologies for saying this, but the two cooks I’m pointing out are far from that, and those are the type of employees that drag down quality which ultimately hurts the owners of these establishments."

went for chelsea man u game on a sunday afternoon , was appalled to see other customers minding their own business being chucked out after just buying a drink . finished mine quickly and left when i worked out it was to make space for regulars for the psg game a few hours later.

We stopped for a beer and whiskey, my husband was done with wine and needed something different. We arrived late afternoon and the place was really empty, I had a london stout and he had a Nikka whiskey, for both it was 17.40 Euros or 19.66USD for a beer and shot. It was expensive and we left. The bar tender was friendly and talkative.

Husband and I had dinner here after a 10 hour flight. Husband had fish and chips. The fish was a small serving but the chips were a large serving. It was interesting that there was no malt vinegar for the fish. I had the fried chicken sandwich and chips, both a healthy serving. We each had two pints of their summer ale and it was delicious and refreshing. We had their chocolate gourmand dessert which was three items, fruit salad, cheese cake, and a shot glass of chocolate mousse. We had water with our dessert. All items were delicious. The service was good and the bathrooms were clean.

This was 2 streets away from my hotel - didnt have a reservation, but the bar staff found me a table anyway and I ordered a blue cheese burger with frites - portion sizes enormous, enough to leave me satisfied. Make sure when you order that your meal is cooked correctly - I ordered medium-well done. When it arrived, it was tasty, hot and fresh but a little dry. That isnt the fault of the chef, I should have ordered medium. Beer good, got a pint of Blonde bier for €5 - total bill for the meal €15. Would visit again and definitely recommend it - visit early to get a table - I think it gets really busy from about 7pm onwards especially if theres a match on.

Went with friends to watch English football but there was a Paris st Germain match on later that evening , was on my 3rd pint and was asked to leave as the place was booked out . Never come across this in a pub before , I wasn't drunk and I was behaving impeccably. Being asked to leave when I had just paid for a drink is reprehensible. I'm sure they had locals and regulars to cater for when the local team were due to play a couple of hours later, but that doesn't make it reasonable to randomly eject some of the English people watching the premier league game . The beer and decor is fine but I would advise English customers sadly to avoid this establishment , especially if the local football...

The best pint of real British beer you will find outside of Britain plus outstanding friendly staff, what more could you ask for! The George has been become a popular haunt for locals and expats alike, always welcoming for those tourist who need a break from practising their français or who would like to practise speaking French in a more forgiving environment. Beware that it is very busy when football or rugby is being shown with French teams given preference on the main screen if there is a conflict, which is understandable given how popular this pub has become with the locals. Always chatty around the bar if you are looking to strike up a conversation with plenty of seating for a quiet pi...

This is my first visit for a pub in Paris. I arrived Paris quite late that evening and many of the restaurants are closing. Just passed by this place and saw lots of people inside. I went into it and ordered a burger meal. This is also my first time to order a burger out of the fast food chain in France. The meal was served with knife and fork, I wondered if I need to use knife and fork to eat a burger in France...LOL..To my surprise, the burger is very nice, the patty is nothing like those that you used to have in the UK and the State. It was so tender but with texture, it was also full of beef flavour which melts in your mouth. The setting and the atmosphere was nice. It is especially nice...
