Worst Christmas dinner I have ever had. Overpriced, tiny portions, poor service. The 'free range ' turkey was the smallest piece of tasteless breast meat I have ever eaten.

had the delicious Rump steak. cooked on perfection medium rare. the pfeffer grain sauce was different, strong. chips were also beautiful, perfect portion ready for dessert! chocolate ice cream was beautiful. also had the malbec, which was well paired.

Interesting pub with a restaurant and a bar area with an open fire. Good outdoor area but near a busy road. Very friendly and welcoming service which is really nice but the food is just ok, not bad, but just ok which is a shame as this could be a great pub otherwise. View menu

While the staff were friendly, we were not informed about the specials menu and only discovered it at the end of our meal. The food was disappointing; I received a dry piece of ginger cake that was supposed to be sticky toffee pudding! This is definitely not what I would expect from a proper gastropub.

Thank you again for another lovely visit. Special thanks to the manager who is so hospitable and friendly a credit to the industry. We enjoyed gorgeous steaks beautifully cooked thanks to the chef too. All the staff are brilliant and very welcoming and good at their jobs. A pleasure to dine here in a beautiful pub. 10 out of 10 from us and dog friendly too.

The roasts here are excellent we had the weekly special which was Lamb the Beef. Very good atmosphere, it was busy when we visited which is always a good sign. Easter Sunday lunch get together with family- a big success. We were looked after by Jo and numerous others- we all opted for the roast lamb/chicken which was delicious. Everyone commented on the excellent roast potatoes too! A very good menu for puddings too. We highly recommend the Duke of wellington- pub food done properly. A very welcoming atmosphere and attentive service. Thank you.

we have broken the herduke of wellington, as eating in our region went downhill after a large pubco chain was taken over. we may be relieved that a decent gastro-pub will remain in our neighbour! we had a series of meal times with different menus and still have a great disappointment to experience (salted caramel tart was an experience that we did not repeat, but otherwise the food and service was perfect.

Lovely welcome, including a choice of where to sit despite a busy restaurant. Starter, mains, desert, all cooked to perfection. Attentive staff Thank you Jass and Joe! . We can highly recommend the Rump and lamb tonight, both tasty and tender. A relaxed meal for 2, eaten in the snug for a change. I've eaten here for both lunch and evening meals on numerous occasions and always had consistent quality of food and service, tonight was exceptional, thank you. View menu
