"It was my Husbands birthday on the 28th. I would like to say the staff were excellent and also attentive. The staff brought to our table a board which said Happy Birthday and they also sang to my Husband. Then, we got our dinner. The food was very underwhelming. The food was lukewarm and the vegetables were soggy, also the Yorkshire pudding were not light and fluffy I could not get my knife through it. I sent back my pudding three times as it was lukewarm. The staff were very apologetic. I would not have complained and I am sure the kitchen staff were very busy, but it put a dampener on a birthday celebration. My Husband and I are booked in for a Christmas Eve lunch, but I don't know if I want to come."

Lovely meal on Sunday afternoon. Delicious food with a choice of either Sunday Roast or the main menu. Great starters...gorgeous main meal. Large portions, so no room for a pudding. Friendly, helpful staff and great service.

the service and the ambiente were good at the dun kuh, but the eating was again very bad. was well heated and then dry chips and draught and gumy rice were brought out. not nice! the complaint was handled well by the employees.

the food we received was good with certain elements that could be improved. we had chips with 2 of the 3 main courses and they tasted completely different. menu was a standard innkeepers fayre. nice restaurant neat service on a busy Saturday.

Lovely restaurant, delicious food and good service (a little slow, but it was very busy) It was a last minute booking and a very pleasant surprise. Our table was near the fire so it was cosy and warm. 3 courses for under £30 was a bargain, the servings were plentiful and really tasty. We will definitely be returning

A query about pine nuts on one of the meals was not dealt with in a professional manner. Our waiter was admonished in front of one of our group when it actually wasn't his fault but the fault of the chef. Also the member of staff who delivered the meal questioned the person on our group who has a severe allergy to pine nuts. Spoilt the whole meal for all the group.

The food was exceptional absolutely no criticism whatsoever possibly the nicest Sunday lunch I’ve had in a long time. the service came with a friendly smile when it came I’m not sure what the problem was whether it was with the kitchen or with management if they’re sending out of the food but it was so slow and the staff were run ragged so obviously more resources required for less bookings.

this was our first visit to the dun cow after it was passed weekly for the last 3 years! it was really not disappointed. it is a beautiful old village pub/restaurant, so the decor, the history, the ambiente was exactly what excites us. it was not busy, so personal and service were excellent. we had 3 courses very decent. all super delicious, well cooked and presented. we just come back from a crucifixion where you get fine food every day, which I think was better than that! I would highly recommend this beautiful restaurant and it will eat our new favourite place.
