"I wanted to treat my Mum to a pub lunch. Had seen the good reviews on Trip Advisor for the Farmers Inn so we took a drive out from Portsmouth to Hornchurch (about 20 minutes) to give it a try. The owners were so friendly and welcoming which is an important and rare commodity nowadays. I had the slow cooked pork belly which was cooked to perfection with excellent crackling and my Mum had the beef featherblade with mustard mash which was again cooked perfectly with great flavour. Really couldn't fault it. Pub had a really warm, cosy, rustic feel and relaxed atmosphere. Will definitely visit again I'm passing. Thankyou for the great hospitality."

I don't usually bother with reviews, however this is the 2nd time in 2 weeks that we have eaten here and its fabulous. Happy, friendly staff and the food is amazing and really good value for money. Only down side is no full fat coke.

Lovely inside, good seating area outside, but not really that impressed with my food. Paid £7.25 for a ciabatta which came with just a small dollop of coleslaw plopped on the side of the plate not very appealing presentation! Chips were extra. Not exactly good value for money really.......

Visited on two occasions in one week as the Farmers Inn is local. Food and service was exceptional and will be my go to place . Having recently moved to the area it's so nice to find this gem on my doorstep. I also used their hospitality for a family and friends gathering of over 40 people. First class.

Whilst the service was fine, the clientele on Easter Sunday were less than desirable. We witnessed a large blonde lady threaten another customer in a deeply upsetting manner, causing the young family to leave visibly shaken. It might be that the staff were unaware, but based on the awful sloppy drunk conduct of the customer concerned, we won't be returning.

Situated in the village of Catherington the Farmer Inn is a former Gales Ales pub as noted by some of the original posters on the fall. But that was a while ago. As a Fullers is serves a consistent range of food and drink. A couple of pints of HSB being my favourite to accompany a good old ching wag. Lovely pub with a nice outdoor garden and seating area too.
