"We arrived early and had a drink downstairs. While waiting at the desk the manager came up to welcome us. Then something very odd happened: one of the young waiting staff pushed in between us and the manager rather than go round us. The manager shrugged and gave him an odd look rather than give him advice. We all laughed it off. We sat down at our table and were immediately asked if we would like something to drink before I had even had a chance to look at the wine menu. We pointed out one wine glass was dirty and it was taken away. Minutes passed. In fact about 25 of them and nothing happened. So we asked for the wine and a glass. More time passed. I read the advert on the table which promised a ‘Stylish Easter’, which seems to miss the point of Easter. We spoke to the people at the table next to us who we knew and asked after their food. They said the pork belly was cold. The sea bass was ok. Our wagu burger and fishcakes arrived. Both were lukewarm to cold, as were the chips. We called the manager and he replaced them immediately, looking increasingly harassed and at odds with his young naive staff. The burger was too chewy to eat. The fishcakes were ok. Before we had finished one of the young lads stood by the table staring at my plate oddly. He asked me if I had finished my main course when I clearly had not. We asked for the bill and left. The manager did not say anything about the problems. I reluctantly paid the £51 but did not leave a tip as the service was non existent. And the final irony: when I went to the loo on the way out, there was pumping hip hop music totally at odds with a restaurant setting. We drove back through Bray and stopped at the pub on the high street there. It was like entering a calming world of normality. No music. Young but experienced and trained staff in control. Happy customers. What a contrast! The new manager at The Ferry clearly has his work cut out to improve standards."

My husband and I went for lunch we thoroughly enjoyed it. The waterfront position adds to the ambience. The food was great would recommend it to family and friends.

Excellent pre Christmas meal with family booked at the last minute and turned out to be a very good decision. The service was excellent and the food was very good indeed. We will be back in the New Year!

The ferry is a great location by the river. The restaurant was fairly empty because of recent snow fall. Our table was located by a draughty door. The toilets were not of a good standard no toilet rolls in two of the toilets.

Experience was lovely till I discovered that my friend and I who are both pregnant had been given an alcoholic gin as opposed to the non alcoholic one that we ordered. We only discovered this once we had drank the drinks and received the bill- we didn’t receive an apology- we just had the drinks knocked off the bill.

We went for Mother's day. I didn't have high expectations but the service was terrible the staff were rude and unhelpful. The food was very poor. It was a shame as we've avoided the Ferry for the past 18 months due to the same poor experience. I had heard of a refurb and wanted to give it the benefit of doubt but only found the same experience to be true we will not be returning for meals. It's still a brilliant location for a Sunday drink after a stroll along the river though.

Arrived and were quick to be seated. That is the last point we had good service. It took 15 minutes before we had a member of staff take our drinks order, by the time the drinks had arrived we had selected our main course. The drinks arrived but the waiter didn't stop to take our order!! I had to call someone over. The food arrived in good time and was really tasty, no issues there. We had to wait again, in the end and after 20 minutes i had to go up and ask for someone to serve us. We abandoned pudding as that took another 10 minutes before we were asked. We left and it took us 90 minutes to have a main course!! Terrible service.

Having visited twice in October when visiting relatives we were really looking forward to another great evening however we were all extremely disappointed. Service is really poor and staff seemed to be doing us a favour to actually even serve us. All the guests were seated in the same area virtually on top of each other in one small section. Food was really disappointing. Brie starter was just one small triangle with a teaspoon of chutney, not even a sprig of garnish. Fish with fish and chips wasn’t cooked properly and was undercooked as were the chips accompanying it. All meals were disappointing. A Friday evening in June and the place was virtually empty which should have made us think twi...
